Small lakes with very warm water, and deck and step access provided. People bath in these pools and smear the mud from the bottom over their bodies. The mud is reportedly excellent for damaged skin and for arthritic pain
Our first visit was on Wednesday 4th October 2017. Read a previous review and the directions to Lo Pagan worked very well. Completely free and great fun even if you don't get muddied up. Met a lovely bunch of people who lent us their small beach bucket and also gathered us some mud, which did the 3 of us. We used our hands to spread it all on and laughed a lot. Yes it is smelly (like rotten eggs) when handling it but it disappears quickly once on. You then stand on the wooden piers to dry. I would recommend taking a vessel of some description to gather the mud and a sponge or cloth to get it of again. We weren't prepared so a pair of socks were used on this occasion.
Lovely big Promenade too with beech bars and shops to browse. Great day out and would go back in a minute. Don't mis it if you are in the area.

Really enjoyable place to relax and have a dip in the sea.
Can get busy at weekends but overall a nice family friendly place to enjoy.
Water is nice and warm and not deep at all which makes it safe for kids.
Nice beach bars along the Promenade drinks and snacks.
Highly recommend the Kiosko Veracruz for tapas.

we hired bikes and cycled the prom and then onto the beach. It was so relaxing there, very quiet and peaceful. We parked our bikes and stayed for a few hours. The water was lovely and reasonably clean. We did not realise that it was a gay nudist area but we did not feel out of place either. It was very chilled out. Would recommend it.

A mixed collection of archeological finds and fossils, and a room full of, what can only be described as, curiosities connected to the region.
Please note that none of the descriptions are in English, and I do not believe the custodians speak much English if any. Spanish is the only language.

Stumbled across this pretty plaza after stopping off for a drinks break whilst driving through the area. The highlight is the lovely whitewashed Iglesia de San Pedro Apostol.

We went here on a Monday, forgetting that everything seems to close on Mondays in Spain! Fortunately, we were met by someone who we presume to be one of the main curators of this small but lovely collection, who was kind enough to show us around for a little while. Not a lot of English spoken if at all, but it's so worth a visit!
Lovely little collection of everything to do with the sea around San Pedro and the Mar Menor, from models of the various types of fishing boats to a giant sponge and various other sea creatures. What was by far the most attractive feature was the enthusiasm of the gentleman though!
Well worth a little visit, but come any day other than Monday!
