This city forms part of Roslagen, one of the coastal areas of the Uppland province about 80 km northeast of Stockholm. Unlike many of the islands in the archipelago, Norrtälje is an attractive year-round destination. With a variety of quaint shops, art museums and galleries, cafés, and some small live music venues, this island is definitely worth a visit. The yearly “Jazz Days” festival gives the island a charming flair and offers travelers the opportunity to really enjoy the Swedish summer sun. Fly fishing is also popular on the island, while there are a few stores that sell bait and tackle. Hostels are open all year, a bonus for those on a budget. Buses run frequently from Stockholm to Norrtälje.

So we met with some friends for drinks here and things got off to a bad start when it took about 15 minutes to be served at the bar......we were actively ignored......which was empty but with only one server who was preoccupied making Irish coffees. Wine list was okay actually and decking area nice to sit out on BUT the basics of hospitality were missing. The food looked good but if you are looking for a bar that serves passing trade, I would look elsewhere. Also, there is a key pad to get into the loo. Weird.

All the vegatarian dishes turned out to contain fishsauce or meatsauce, but if you can live with that they are very delicious. Could be that all thai restaurants add fish sauce to their vegetarian dishes, and that Ran Mae is the first one to be honest about it.

We alwAys stop off here for top notch coffee cakes Sandwich. Clean tasty quaint welcoming good quality.
Also character and atmosphere. I love the varied menu loverly tasting food and coffee and tea especially. It's mixed in ages as well not a dark quiet hideaway for the elderly or a youth club a well organised cafe with a mixed clientele. More than highly recommended it's a must for a visit if your in the town.

I was there yesterday with my familiy. Want to suprise them with something sweet after good lunch in Norrtälje. I´ve seen pictures of this caffe on Tripadvisor and decided to go there. It was amazing. Personal was very kind, cakes were perfect despite I am not an dessert lover. But the most beautiful there is design. Just like in dreams. Definitely will return many times.

We had made a reservation for the opening night with Malin and Davis the owners. It was their inaugural dinner with 2 seatings of 100+ people. The food was absolutely fantastic, our waitress Amanda took excellent care of us, serving beef tartar, white asparagus, veal file and walleye. They have 12 hotel rooms upstairs with great views.
They are open for breakfast.
David and Malin also owns the marina, just a few steps away and a second restaurant by the docks that will open soon.
Next time in the area we will for sure stop by again.

We went to this restaurant a rainy evening and it was vey nice to get inside the inn. We started with whitefish roe, which was very delicious. Concerning the main course we chose different plates, sea zander and entrecôte respectively. The zander tasted excellent, but the entrecôte was not. The servant asked if it was OK and we said that it was not. She did not react at all, no question, no excuse, nothing. Maybe she was used to the fact that it was not apreciated? We thought that it was astonishing that the restaurant just let it pass without a comment.

After a long waiting time in the queue, my wife were seated in a surprisingly empty restaurant. The staff was ignorant and slow serve the quests.
We had a very dry (over cooked) chicken which was far too salty in our chicken sallads. The staff git defensive when we commented on the dry chicken.
We would not return on our next visit to Norrtälje.

This restaurant has a good selection of food. From a simple burger to a nice piece of fish. We had local smoked shrimps for a starter, really tasteful. You don't find that everywhere!
Then we had salmon for main, also locally smoked; one of the best pieces of salmon I ever had. And another fish (Gosfile) which was also good.
The menu is in Swedish, which I can't read being Dutch but the waitress translated the whole menu. So we had a really good diner with reasonable prices beer and excellent service.

Antep's Restaurant is the only one in Norrtaelje that offers authentic Turkish food . It is also a superb pizzeria . All the food is made from ingredients supplied locally or regionally. The menu is varied and all food is grilled on a charcoal grill or cooked in an oven. The service is excellent and friendly, the venue very pleasant and the location close to the centre of town. Free parking is available, The chef apparently comes from Turkey, so knows exactly what he is doing. I wanted a pizza that was extra, extra hot. No problem. It was perfect - and very, very hot just as I had asked for. I went with my family (i.e. four adults and four children. We had a bottle of wine and most of us had pizzas. My wife had a generous salad dish - and the bill came to less than £100, which in Sweden is sensational value. The restaurant is open 7/7 until 2300 Monday to Friday, till midnight on Saturday and until 2200 on Sunday.
