This Cemetary is special as my uncle who I never knew is buried here. The Cemetary is in such a beautiful setting and is so well looked after by the amazing staff. It is always a moving visit especially when you see how young those who gave their life were. I will continue to visit whenever I can.

Arrived with a group on Liberation Day Celebration Day, May 5, 2017. Aside from the interesting exhibits mentioned by other writers, there was a demonstration tent set up for WWII type communications actively sending and receiving messages. Entertainment was also provided by 3 young lady singers in 1945 costume reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters. They were entertaining even in flight jackets as it was quite chilly. Venders had set up sales tables offering books and other materials about war in the area. A special ceremony was held placing a wreath in the memorial chapel. Great visit!

Historical tour by an acredited Guide of the Guild of Battlefield Guides. You will visit the Battlefields of Operation Market Garden and Veritable. Transportation is done in a WW2 DODGE.
The enthousiastic and professional guide Bert drives you through the surroundings of Groesbeek with his DODGE WC51 (1944) with explanation about Market Garden and Operation Veritable.
On several points Bert stops the the Dogde and explains the story of that specific spot and shows what happened via video, photo's and maps with his lively stories behind it you can almost feel what our guys had to go through to save our country and end the war.
Unfortunately we did only a small part, but lucky us Bert offers more possibilities and we will be back for more!

Top dag gehad.

This churge is the most colourful one in thw Netherlands. From your feet until the highest point above you the churge is covered in bright colors! It is part of a group of 13 religious places in the country (some churges/mosques/synagoges)
I was surprised with this bysantium churge and all the things you see around. There is an excellent audio guide: walking around and information pops up, each about 2-3 minutes and leads you through the picture.
Not only the churge is great, also the service, being helpfull, really if you are in the area of Den Bosch, Nijmegen Arnhem it is worth the visit!
(Nearby is a museum showing the holy country, also the Africa museum is nearby)
I will post pictures when I have my computer with me.....
- entrance free
- open Thursday-Sunday
- audio tour 3 euro
- time to walk around 1 hour or more.
