We visited this place early in the morning to avoid the crowd
There are sections dedicated to the minority group of tribes in xianjiang
The wax statures are lively
They also showed many original mummies unearned along the Tianshan area at least 3 thousand years old
The clothings of the tribes showed detailed arts of embroidery
Worth visiting!!!

There were too many tourist activities going on, like horse riding, souvenirs, etc that I feel it looses the unique nature place as it should be. Also, with the number of tourist stopping there, the surrounding grass areas are worn out by the trampling of human. All being said, it is a lovely lake.

It is an ancient town full of history and archaeological findings
Before you go into the ruins, there is a model built showing its strategic location on top of the hill surrounded by river
One can identify and understand the life's of the people through the abandoned ruins e,g, the government buildings, place of worship ,a cemetery for children only
The scenery is beautiful

North of Xinjiang
We had pre-booked a tour to Xinjiang, so our trip had a plan to drive from Burqin to Kanas. its a more than 3 hours drive and whoa.. for a period of one hour in between.. all we saw was snow. all Mountains, everything covered with snow. For someone like me who doesn't get to see snow every winter, this is a treat. We parked our vehicle to enjoy the view and take some pics. Once this region passed, it was again autumn view all over. From the entrance again its bus journey for more than 30 minutes but you will not realize the time as you can see beautiful views of autumn colors and kanas flowing across the Mountains.. the views are breathtaking. There are many spots once you enter inside..the first and important being the panaromic view from top of the mountain. Due to snow and also i believe a regular thing at this altitude, most of the time the view was covered with clouds/fog. Nevertheless the snow patches on Mountains, beautiful autumn colors and extremely beautiful river were gorgeous views. You can take your time here and wait until you get the panoramic view of the river. You then drive back in the shuttle buses to different spots or walk as per your convenience. Moon Bay, Wolong Bay etc.. all of them are very eye catching. You need time to enjoy all the views and take your clicks.

this place is so awesome. i visited on the best season, 6th October which was after the holiday break of China national day. after 5th october to 9th october will be the best because of less people so that you take enjoy the screen quietly and took photos without disturbances. the day after a small snow was the greatest time to visit but the temperature was very cool,-10 degree c.
don't follow the travelling trip for a short snap , take your own time, have a deep walk beside the kanas lake to enjoy the mother nature.

I have been to many lakes in this world including Hallstatt & Interlaken. Sayram lake is one of the most beautiful I have seen. Setting above 2,000m above sea levels, there is no entrance fee and you can walk in freely. The lake totally reflects the colour of the sky. We went in early July and the weather is 15-18 degrees. Awesome!!!

The lake is magnificent and Mountains too..just a shame it's being turned into a Disney world of outgrageous entrance fees, concrete tree trunks and photo opportunities. GREAT rhubarb on the other side of the lake if you get that far and wonderful yurts to stay overnight at reasonable prices with Rashid the friendly kazakh. But don't recommend the short day trips from Urumqi which will take you on a whirlwind tour of jade shops and souvenirs and give you minimum time at the lake side. Take your own transport and stay a few days otherwise it's not worth it

Kuche Grand Canyon should not be missed for any visitor to this part of Xinjiang. Actually the drive there is part of the experience as you weave through incredible landforms weathered from sandstone by wind and rain over centuries. Make sure you make this a day trip and find a taxi driver who is willing to stop along the way for the myriad photos you are sure to want to take. Once you get to the canyon itself, allow yourself at least three hours to do it justice. Weaving up the river bed for around five kilometres, if it is all open, and surrounded by towering woven shades of red sandstone you will feel yourself transported into a magical wonderland. Try to make it part of the taxi ride deal that you then visit the ancient buddhist caves on the way home...all makes for a great day out.

Formerly known as Yaochi (Jade Lake), it is guarded by the stately peaks and offers a spectacular sight.
Just like all the national attractions, you have to pay to get in
The price is 220 RMB which is quite steep in xianjiang
After you enter the gate, you have to switch to a smaller shuttle bus to to the lake which is another 40-45 minutes ride
When we arrive, it started to rain, then comes the snow
It was freezing cold!!!
The lake is quite small, and there is boat tour available
Due to presence of fog, there is no boat ride....who wants to go on a boat ride on a cold day
In the afternoon there is a short ten minutes break
The sun comes out,
The scenery is beautiful, with blue water and green and yellow trees at the background
Within five minutes come the cloud, the fog
It was a beautiful scene caught on camera, then nothing is visible again!!!
For those who have not visited a lake, when the weather gets cold,it is not worth visiting
