There are other similar attractions throughout Europe, according to the web, and this particular one is new in 2015 according to the official brochure.
We left our teenage son and his friend there for a few hours, they both had great fun and exercise. Once they were cleared by staff to climb (after an initial test) they went to work over a number of obstacle courses through the trees. The supervision was suitable and the activity seemed to be quite safe. The boys were able to secure their valuables on site by hiring a lockable container (bag).
We didn't have a go ourselves, but it appears to suit adults and teenagers alike. Drinks and nibbles and ice creams are available for purchase on site.
We can certainly recommend this activity.
Check out the website at www.kletterwald.de and the site is a few minutes drive from Viersen (near Monchengladbach in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany).

Frankly speaking this new house for Bundesliga team Borussia is located quite far and is difficult to reach by public transport. The free shuttle bus is provide to and from the stadium but still... Otherwise we liked the venue especially the fan zone

Open Air Museum
We had to go 2x as the first time we went it was 'karfreitag' (friday bedore Easter) and then the whole country lies in a coma. Next day more luck. The old estate 'Dorenburg' is still at its original location, and the museum has been added later. The museumspub 'Pannekookehuus' is famous for its vast varieties of pancakes, in all sorts and sizes. The museum lies behind a sportingarea, so one needs to park the car at the sports- leisurecentre and take the small road for pedestrians and follow the signs. Behind the museum is the city park.

There is a museum, a restaurant and a Castle with a lot of peafowls. The castle's wall has a lot of "heads" ornament on it, also with text. When you walk behind the castle, you will be in a woody area of the castle and you can take a nice walk. The restaurant has a very delicious hot choco, btw

Grefrath-Niershorst airport is situated close to Krickenbeck nature and recreational area. It can be reached by car via Autobahn A40 or A61. The airport opens at 11:00 on weekdays and at 9:00 on weekends and public holidays. Flying ends at sunset. We have motorplanes, gliders, ultralight planes, gyrocopters, the occasional helicopter and ballon and Skydiving activities. Of course you can also visit us by plane.

I was pleasantly suprise walking through this town, the people are friendly and helpful, the sculptures are unique. It is very busy though on a Saturday when people are out doing there shopping. A feel good place if you are just out to relax.
