Tiraspol (Russian: Тирасполь [tʲɪˈraspəlʲ]; Ukrainian: Тираспіль [tɪˈrɑspilʲ]) is internationally recognised as the second largest city in Moldova, but is effectively the capital and administrative centre of the unrecognised Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (Transnistria). The city is located on the eastern bank of the Dniester River. Tiraspol is a regional hub of light industry, such as furniture and electrical goods production.

Lively market, fresh fruits or vegetables of the season (also dry fruits and nuts, eggs, home-made fresh cheese and butter) are sold directly from local farmers at local prices (very cheap). Other sellers have some non-season and imported products at normal prices.

This monastery consists of several beautiful Orthodox churches, fabulously decorated inside. The golden onion-shaped domes are typical of this style of building. We visited whilst the monks were singing, which was very atmospheric.

Probably the most impressive building I saw in Tiraspol with its bust of Lenin standing guard out front.
There is not much to do or see except look at it and take photos! But it is well worth a visit and is a short stroll from the university and Subarov Monument.
Imposing and dripping with history.

This is a great football stadium and looks very modern and state of the art. Personally, I'm not really interested in football, but I was impressed by this place, If you love this sport, I would imagine that this would be a must-see attraction during your visit to Transnistria.

Grandiose in the Soviet style, and interesting simply for that reason. I found the whole city and breakaway republic to be very interesting, although most attractions individually aren't so fascinating.
