Tallinn's atmospheric Old Town is an enthralling hodgepodge of medieval streets and spires. It's a small city, and the tourist areas are safe and easily explored on foot. Buy a Tallinn Card if intending to use buses, trolleys or trams. For a look into Tallinn's past, visit Rocca-al-Mare Open Air Museum's typical rural Estonian taverns, windmills and watermills, see the onion-domed 1900 cathedral or join the bustle in historic Town Hall Square. St. Olav's spire was once the tallest in the world.

Visit begins with reception and unfortunately we felt unwelcome. We were already standing with coats in hand but the persons entering after us were served before. Even more, then the lady ran to check our booking and we were left standing even longer. Mood was somewhat destroyed already. The restaurant serves only long tasting menus for ca 60 and 70 euros and you need all these courses. We were trying 3 course offering during the restaurant week and we stayed hungry. The starter, celery was very nice - different aspects of it, delicious and exiting with very nice sauce. After that we were served 2 different breads which were also nice - very fresh and delicate. The main dish lamb was not bad but the accompanying consommé like sauce was too sweet and killed a bit the other tastes. The dessert was served with nice show but itself was dull, nothing exiting. From red wines only two Italian-ones were served by glass. Nowadays there should b much more possibilities to take only 1 glass of wine. All those on their menu were definitely not so extraordinary. All in all did not exceed expectations. Food is not bad but not inviting back.

Everyone is welcome in Von Krahli Aed: vegans and omnivores, paleo enthusiasts and wine lovers, monks and sybarites. We prefer local. We prefer organic. We prefer well-balanced food. We prefer the Nordic crispness and the taste of the food’s ingredient itself. We prefer organic wines. We don’t have any others. All of our dishes can be ordered with or without meat. Our belief is that the pleasure from fresh and pure food is one of the greatest that nature can offer us. We strive to mediate this joy to you with our best skills (according to our best skills?). Welcome to the Embassy of Pure Food!
I booked here with my mother in law and aunt for our first night in Tallinn. Even on a Monday night they were busy and I’m glad I booked ahead.
The menu isn’t extensive but there is enough on it to satisfy everyone. As mentioned in other reviews, each meal can be either vegan or meat/fish option.
We shared the Estonian platter between the three of us to start. A selection of all the appetisers and just enough for us. The black bread was to die for and the selection of other food was a very interesting combination of flavours.
I had The Onion with beef fillet, the beef was cooked to perfection and the rye rice was excellent. My other companions enjoyed their meals of The Root and Mushroom. All meals were very generous portion sizes.
Overall, a great dinner and way to start our first night on holiday. The wait staff are pleasant and were happy to explain the dishes in full. The meal came to €70 including tip and a drink each.

Fine-Dining
We stayed at the Telegraaf Hotel, so thought we would try out the highly rated restaurant on the premises, the Tchaikovsky. It is neatly designed in one of the areas where the old and new parts of the hotel originally met.
We were not disappointed - we had absolutely superb service from the wait staff, and the food was delicious (far better Russian food than the food we had had in St Petersburg the week before). Well cooked food, a nice variety on the menu, a good range of wines, and excellent service. Its a fairly fancy restaurant which might put some off, and it wasn't cheap, but we thought it was an excellent experience!

The Dominic Restaurant in the heart of Old Town of Tallinn is a cosy dining place for all worshippers of European cuisine. Wine enthusiasts can choose their favourite from among 400 different wines. Restaurant Dominic won "Best Restaurant" and "Best Chef" categories at the Silverspoon Awards 2012 held by the Gastronomy Society of Estonia.
We booked Dominic because high place in Tripadvisor.
I am afraid that I am not going to visit again.
Table at 20.00, we waited food almost 2 hours. Our waiter was such a lovely guy (and a real professional) but it did not save our night in this place. Food was ok- lamb stake was good even tho it was medium plus, not medium minus what we ordered. The riesling Haart by Haart was one of the best I have ever tasted. High recommendation for that.
Piano player was also good.
I think that this place needs a lift up and it will be great. Not that trendy at the moment. Biggest minus because of the waiting.

Korsaar - feast for all senses restaurant. Korsaar offers another reality for those who desire genuine delight midst nowadays world, which, as often as not, tends to turn superficial and impersonal.
The restaurant is decorated as a pirate ship. There’s a video show that together with the music and the outstanding decorations gives you the feeling of actually being in a pirate ship. I only had Caribbean Tom-Jam soup which was delicious. I highly recommend. It’s...MoreThank you for your great review! We would be pleased to see you again in our restaurant!

Kohvik(Cafe) MOONIt's a project what is being started by three professional persons - head chef Roman Zastserinski - he is most appreciated and talented chef who has left a big mark in Estonian restaurant market and is a big example for many people, head chef Igor Andrejev and also food and beverage manager Jana Zastserinski. To open our own place - this has been our big dream and wish of heart for a long time. Now as the right time has come for us and we have found awonderful place in centre of Tallinn where to make all our dreamscome true. MOON is opened since 1st of December 2009.OPENED: Mo - Sat 12 - 23 Su 13 - 21CLOSED EVERY JULY!!
Restoran Moon is a nondescript looking restaurant in a nondescript area of Tallinn, near the Viking Line Harbour, just north of the Old Town. I went there for lunch on the way to Patarei Prison and the Lennusadam maritime museum. It was definitely worth the walk.
We had two pasties as appetisers (one meat, one fish, both very tasty), then shared fresh, hot buckwheat blinis with sour cream, lumpfish caviar, red onion and dill, and goats cheese millefeuille. The goats cheese dish was perfectly nice but the blinis were absolutely superb, as good as anything I've eaten in London recently, and are highly recommended. For mains we had a modern take on Chicken Kiev, which came with a rich, buttery potato puree, and Salmon 'Napoleon', which was wrapped in cabbage and came with a variety of delicious accompaniments. Both were very good. Complimentary fresh bread accompanied both courses.
The staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. The final bill was €84 (pre-tip) for appetisers, two courses each, four glasses of wine and two beers. For the high quality, I thought this was very reasonable. Moon is definitely worth a visit while you're in Tallinn.

Fusion restaurant MIX does not offer simple conventional dishes, but they are fantastic and delicious.
We decided to have a quick and nice dinner. As we liked adverticed concept of the restaurant, we dropped in. It looks classic celler restaurant. Service was nice, friendly and professional. Menu was so interesting, it took some time to choose. The tuna tartar was really great! Mmmmm. The beef - the piece of meet had a good quality, but it was a bit overcooked (it was slow cooked). Will go back to try rest of the menu. :)

Restaurant had 2 waiters and people sitting at 7 tables, so should be pretty normal situation. Right?
Wrong - it took 10 minutes to get menu *after* I was tired waiting and stopped one of waiters and asked for it.
Guess what happened when I was ready to order my lunch after 1 minute?
Same story - waiters going around me and ignoring, but this time I decided to check how much time it would take them.
After 10 minutes of waiting I just stood and left.
This is THE worst service that I had during last 12 months in restaurants.
Avoid this place if you don't want your day ruined by bad experience.

Great service and excellent food with a pleasing outlook over an open square in the heart of the Old Town combine to make Pegasus an excellent dinner choice.
The menu has a good choice to satisfy vegetarians and carnivores.
Wine and cocktails offerings are comprehensive and reasonably priced for a top tier restuarant.
The roast duck brest with barley and a thick dark sauce was the pick of our selections, closely followed by the two fish soup.
The house baked bread is just superb...it would be hard to find better elsewhere in Talkinn
