There's a pond in Seki city whose name is an unnamed pond.
It was just a Reservoir but it is now called Monet's pond, having been named after its beauty like the picture "Water lilies" drawn by Monet.
I hoped for a glimpse of it and drove to there.
When I watched it in reality I thought it was less beautiful than I'd expected.
Curious to say, however, it was quite photogenic.
If you go there during hydrangea & water lily season, you might be able to see more beautiful scenery.

Seki is not a main tourist attraction for foreign visitors. Hopefully the Enku museum will attract more people to this city in the future. While staying (or passing by) one should consider visiting this temple. It is a nice example of a functional temple, with a bell tower and graves up the hill. But I never before visited a temple with a maze (kaidan tour ? google translation). For a small fee you are allowed into a tunnel under the floor of the main temple. When I say dark it is pitch dark. Do not cheat and leave your cell phone outside. Take your time and experience this confrontation with yourself, it reminded me of Luke Skywalker. In the past it was part of the initiation of the monks, if I understood correctly. Go slowly, it is very safe, you only encounter yourself, and it does not take long. No way you can get lost, just keep going.

It's 2 floors of displays of every kind of samurai swords. I guess it might be interesting if you're into samurais and/or swords, however I confess, we weren't. We had hoped to watch the blade forging demonstration, however didn't realize this only takes place infrequently - on the 1st Sunday of March, April, June and November.
The museum was empty when we went. Seki seemed a pretty interesting town with a historical quarter, on hindsight we should have spent the time exploring the town instead of stopping at the museum.

I went for a meeting and got the introduction to the museum from the elders working in the museum. What a nice experience to know from people who actually worked in Father the results of they're dedication to the company philosophy thru the accomplishment of they're goals.

Amazingly crystal clear pond with many colorful carp swimming! Tempted to visit there again in four different seasons.

The museum is a 15 minute walk from the train station. The 2nd floor sells the local knives which are about half the price you would pay in the US or Australia. They also have a sales assistant that speaks good English. There were about 900 knives for sale of every type, with each cabinet housing knives from a different local craftsman.
The owner also gave me a free DVD and tea-towels, they seem to like foreigners.

The master Enku rightly deserved a museum. Sadly enough a fire destroyed many of his works, but as he made so many there are enough left for us to enjoy.
