We walked the 7km from Lunel to the site along a pretty trail, but it can be reached by car.
Whilst the bridge has succumbed to the forces of the river and has only one arch left the city wall and some building remnants give the visitor an idea of what was a fairly large town.
The best part is the cobbled road winding through the town which is exciting to walk on for two reasons; it is part of a road that led from Rome, across France and down to the South of Spain built in the century B.C, and it remains with the grooves of countless wheeled carts and vehicles of the time.
We didn't bother with the museum as the whole site is one big open air display.

this is a really nice farm to spend a few hours with the kids. Un papa qui voyage.
J'ai connu ce parc au debut , ou on attendait que les arbustes formant le labyrinthe grandissent. Le lieu etait prometteur.....4 entrees plus tard , rien est entretenu.
Certes un bout de bois, de l'eau et nos enfants s'amusent. Je n'ai pas l'insouciance de nos petites têtes blondes, mais on voit bien le laissé aller des responsables. Si c'est pour rajouter une nouvelle attraction d'un coté et laisser mourrir les autres sous la pluie et le soleil , quel interet?
La saison se termine. Redressez les grillages de Dedale , coupez les haies,changez le theme , arrangez les jeux (dedans et dehors ) ou virez les une fois pour toute et retirez tout ces isolants au sol (sorte de tissu on on se prende les pieds).
Jetez/remplacez les jeux de societe - cassés , manquent des pieces.
FERMEZ votre mini , mini, mini ferme - une honte , surtout pour les betes
Et........la liste et longue.......vous avez une affaire en Or - Au boulot!!!!

C'est un cabaret diner-spectacle transformiste. C'est un lieu a recommander impérativement.
Les artistes, le personnel sont super agréables, sympathiques. Il y a une ambiance géniale. Le repas est fait par un traiteur qui est très bon et copieux.
Alors n'hésiter pas, il faut y aller !!!!

This beats some 5 star hotels we have stayed in . Beautifully designed and comfortable bedroom and shower room. Plenty of Seating , nice ambient lighting. Comfortable bed and good linen. Coffee machine. Basic but pleasant breakfast. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and horses. Will definitely stay again.

The fortified city of Aigues-Mortes was built in the 13th century on the order of Saint Louis to provide the kingdom of France with a port on the Mediterranean. The complex consists of 1,634 metres of ramparts flanked by twenty towers and one of the most splendid keeps in the architectural style of the Middle Ages, the tower of Constance, which was used as a prison for Protestants from the Cévennes region from 1685. This was a highlight of our visit to the Camargue, or more correctly, the Little (Petite) Camargue country. Ancient Aigues-Mortes has walls enclosing the town, complete with ramparts and towers in very good condition, considering their age. We climbed the walls and the tower for excellent views of the town below us and the countryside beyond the town. Great photo opportunities.
