A 23 December evening with little open we found this wonderful place. There was space, great good and wonderful owners to helped us finding the best markets in town for Christmas treats.
Wonder antipasto with various vegetables and meat - a small share w plenty for us. Then a simple and delicious penne norcia- depth of flavor, perfect cooking and a nice local bottle of red wine. And....at Saturday market they have outside tables for those who bring oysters and other treats to eat. A nice white wine w Christmas Eve lunch oysters at their tables. This place is wonderful and the owners kind and helpful - worth a stop.

Having had a house in Brittany for twenty five years, we have tried a lot of creperies.
The lady owner here ( very pleasant) is from Brittany and I have to say the food is super.
Great spot over looking the Roman bridge, service friendly and quick.
Try the Caradoc ( if you like Roquefort)
Came twice over two days... diet time !

Arrived rather late on a Friday lunchtime - we were still welcomed. We explained that I am mostly vegetarian but eat a little fish, they were unfazed and produced a most delicious starter of salad, marinated baby tomatoes, a little tapenade on toast, garnished with grated cheese. This was followed by a nicely cooked salmon fillet with marinated vegetables and semi-roasted potatoes - a nice change from the usual accompaniment of tagliatelle or rice! The dessert was delicious! My husband had tete de veau salad to start followed by pork, he thoroughly enjoyed it. Will certainly return there with friends. The setting is lovely, a large riverside Terrace - perfect.

Cycled into town from local campsite. Staff very friendly and helpful. Small but excellent menu. Great starters, choice of lamb, pork, bull or beef steak amongst meat mains. 6 in our party including 2 kids, had a different dish each, all excellent. Lovely desserts, great wines and beers and reasonably priced. Definetly recommend.

Once again we took our grandchildren to Le Pekin, their favourite restaurant during their stay with us.
The service is impeccable, the food is deliciously, very generous portions: A 3 course menu for Euro 15. Last, but not least: a complimentary sake at the end of the meal and lollipops for the children--perfect.

We ate here late one evening, and were grateful to be seated. Even the smaller portions of salad were huge - not really suitable as starters. The pizza was tasty, but rather overwhelmed with topping, while the lamb chops were rather under-done even to be rosé. Pleasant staff, but the experience wasn't as excellent as the meals we had elsewhere in Sommieres.

We ate lunch at the restaurant as part of a large group, having agreed on a no-choice menu although an alternative was arranged for anyone who had a problem with any of the courses. All 3 courses were enjoyed by everyone I spoke to, and the empty plates reflected that.
The starter was eggs en meurette - how they managed 2 perfect poached eggs for each of about 30 people at the same time I just don't know. They were absolutely delicious, at least as good as those I ate recently in a very good restaurant in Burgundy.
I had read reviews of the restaurant on TA, some of which mentioned food was tepid. I needn't have been concerned, as both the starter and main course were piping hot. Other people were eating there at the same time as us, from choices on a blackboard, so the chef had a lot more going on than just cooking for our group.
I don't visit Sommières often, but will happily return to eat at Lou Caleou Next when there in future, and will definitely recommend it to friends. It was extremely good value as well as being very tasty, along with very pleasant servers. The only drawback was the large amount of noise echoing around the very full restaurant due to the lovely vaulted ceiling.

We were looking forward to tasting the couscous and tajines from Bab Mansour, and we were eventually disappointed by the overall quality and size of the plates. The vegetarian couscous had a mutton taste (I don't consider a meal with meat juice in it to be vegetarian?!) and the tajine was tasty but one of the 3 ingredients presented on the menu was missing (??). The desserts were pretty plain and tiny...
Thankfully, the restaurant is nice and cozy and the staff is very sweet. But it certainly does not make it up for the disappointment with the food...
