Saw the musical once with my wife and once with my daughters (12 and 15 years of age). Both times it was very impressive, though the first cast was somewhat better, I have to admit. Nevertheless, we all, including my adolescent daughters, were very impressed, both times.

Very nice relaxed beach. Parking can be a bit of a problem on busy days. Nice beach bars/clubs with good food.

So nice place for a relaxing walk by the river Rhine. It is nice and beautiful scenery with lots to see and the restaurants were there to answer your need for food. We saw some taking a cruise but we preferred to stroll. We did not go far but have to stop sometime. In between was a nice opportunity for a souvenir shopping.

The small museum offers visitors a very personable insight into the life and work of Baruch Spinoza.Entry fee 3,50;Museumjaarkaart gratis. The philosopher of Portugese Jewish descent sought refuge in a room in this small house after excommunication in Amsterdam.I was shown around by a very friendly and informative volunteer museum-keeper/guide.During his stay in the small house around 1660 Spinosa wrote some of his most famous books;also on display.
I was informed that during 1940-45 the small 17th century house was a place of refuge for 2 jewish employees of the (former?)owner of the museum;Industrialist Sikkens-Sikkens ;paint manifacture Sassenheim.
I visited the small museum on a bike-tour from Leiden via Kasteel Endegeest Oegstgeest to the Beaches at Katwijk aan Zee.
Baruch Spinosa also stayed at Kasteel Endegeest where he is remembered by a sculpture. Joods Historisch Museum in Amsterdam has a small exhibition on Spinosa as well.
Rijnsburg village has demolished most historic houses;only this museum;Oudheidskamer Rijnsburg and Laurentiuskerk (1133-1574 rebuild 1578)remain.

Rain or shine, I'd always recommend this experience and not only because I'm obsessed with space travel. While some of the installations are a bit tired, they are still fun. Especially the model of ESA's module on the ISS is fun, and the asteroid never fails to blow my mind.

The Katwijk museum deals with 2 main subjects: the fishery and the painters who stayed in Katwijk at the beginning of the 20th century.
Mainly it's quite interesting with some very nice paintings.
What I do miss is more photos of the town in the past. So I can show the interested people what it is now and what it used to be in my youth.

We were staying with Eurocamp at Duinrell and cycled to the beach via the nature reserve/dunes a couple of times. There are a couple of restaurants at the beach as well as fast food and take away stalls. The beach is very popular but you need to be aware that the parking area for cars fills up early.

Marina Rijnsburg is a marina where you can rent really nice boats. From our marina, you can discover the most beautiful places of the Dutch lakes and the historical city of Leiden. You do not need experience an will receive a brief instruction. A waterway map is on board. Go for a swim at the Kagerplassen or enjoy Leiden with her canals, monuments and nice restaurants. A pleasant day garantueed!
We had a party for a 9 year old birthday party. The staff present (Ralph & Sander) were friendly, fun, kept the group motivated and entertained, and above all, we were impressed by the professional approach (safety being very important)

This is a typical Dutch beach, which means nice flat, sandy Beaches and lots of it. However what makes Katwijk a great place to come is the easy parking and access right on the beach front, which is free on Sunday. There are at least 2 great restaurants on the beach (our favourite is called Het Strand) and the ice cream vans do great creamy ice cream, although beware sometimes they only take cash.
