Explore an enchanting world of secret Gardens. Transport yourself through time and to far-flung corners of the world. Meander through a lush tropical jungle, visit ancient China and indulge yourself in a Renaissance Prince's 16th century garden. Five garden collections have been created to delight the senses, with some garden concepts reaching back 4,000 years. Hamilton Gardens is a conceptual garden based in the Waikato that explores the context, history and meaning of Gardens through time, and from around the world. It is internationally recognised for its unique concept and is the Waikato region's most popular tourist destination. Only five minutes drive from Hamilton's CBD, the Gardens is open 7 days a week during daylight hours and entry and parking is free. Access is off SH1, alongside Cobham Drive on the southern side of Hamilton.
Beautiful free is charge spot! Stopped by on our way to hobbiton and it was beautiful. Such a nice idea to create those differently themed Gardens. Unfortunately, two were closed the to private functions. Cannot believe that those were converted from a former dump site...

Something Classic for the Whole Family! A classic car museum with something to cater for every member of the family. Come and have a look at the cars of yesteryear which are sure to bring back memories. We have over 60 cars on display and an extensive collection of petrol memorabilia - signs, tins, petrol pumps, pedal cars and vintage pin ball machines. Plenty of free parking onsite. We have a 1950's diner in the building too! The Jukebox Diner, serving American classics, modern fare, child friendly options and of course great coffee!
Had been meaning to go here for a while (we live in Hamilton) and so glad we got there. All cars in great condition and a wide selection from exotic to early/mid 1900's family wagons. The extras are great too - vehicle badges, AA badges, Shell/Castrol/Mobil paraphernalia incl. old petrol pumps. Worth going to see if you're in Hamilton.

I live just around the corner from this beautiful Lake Rotoroa here in Hamilton city and I love to walk around it. It's an easy walk with lots to see along the way. Sometimes there might be kayaks, yachts or model boats on the lake and other times a group of fit people doing bootcamp. There are new houses being built, lovely Gardens to admire and always other people walking or running. You will see so many ducks, canadian geese and our own Pukeko. Great exercise, enjoyable scenery and worth the experience.

Taitua Arboretum is a 20-hectare (49-acre) tree collection just out of Hamilton City. The Arboretum has several lakes and a good network of walking tracks. It is a popular spot for Sunday afternoon picnics and weekend weddings.

Four of us visited this museum and as well as the Maori exhibits, which were very good, the museum was also showcasing the WW1 special exhibition. The collection was well laid out, setting out the story of local people and their part in The Great...MoreKia ora! Thanks so much for your visit and for taking your time to write this review. We look forward to seeing you back one day! Ngaa mihi, Jens

Great local stadium. Well suited for rugby with Seating packed close to field. I volunteer for Rotary to raise money for community projects selling drinks on behalf of the stadiums provider Montana Catering. A great ongoing relationship which has put nearly $1,000,000 into the community over the last 10 plus years

I took an out-of-town friend to the Temple today and he was surprised at the beauty of it and the great statue and the sense of peace and calm that he felt. It photographs so well in any weather or light. It is even better when the lights go up at Christmas time.

The University is on a hill in a relatively suburban part of the city. It is not a large campus in terms of buildings but the buildings are diverse in their structure. The campus includes a large field area and unlike the vast majority of university campuses, it has its own man made lake. I suspect it is a great place to study and work.
