The tour of this winery, was one of our highlights (we visited about 15 in Chile and Uruguay). What made it so special was the trip into the private cellar where we got to pick a very old bottle of wine to taste. My husband was so thrilled and he loved the wines and the ambiance!
If you are a serious wine lover this is a great place to visit!

Visited here as part of a large group.
First thing we did was taste the grapes just harvested.
I always imagined them to be tart , but they were SO sweet!
Victoria took us round and explained the whole process of the wine making from start to finish.
Then we had a bar b q lunch.
We were seated at a long table outside, nicely set with white linen etc.
We started with a glass of sparkling white, to go with platters of local cheeses, meats, olives, bread and of course grapes.
We tried three other red wines , and could have as much of whichever wine you liked during the meal.
An amazing bar b q platter followed with different meats, salads and potatoes.
Finally, if you could manage, some ice cream.
We bought two bottles of Reserve Red wine $10 each, such a bargain.
Such a pity they do not export!
Fantastic day, really enjoyed it.

We are a winery with simple tasting service (45 USD/p), altagama service tasting (70 USD/p) and lunch (100 USD/p)
Although my brother and myself had no Reservations, we were warmly welcomed by Franco Stagniari and his mother.
After a visit of the winery with a thorough explanaition of process, we sat down in the garden for the wine tasting.
We had 4 different wines, as well as a plate of chese, ham & olives. All 4 wines were excellent, including the Viognier that was included to our request.
We stayed as long as we wished, enjoying the peace of the place, the beautifull sunset and the great company of Franco.
A must if you are in the region, and if you can, reserve also the lunch. It looked great ;)

Our private tour took us to this, the oldest winery in Uruguay. Beautiful country setting, marvelous dining room, interesting staff, perfect atmosphere, and great wines. Not to be missed. Don Pascual is an amazing wine, particularly the Sauvignon Blanc. We bought 4 bottles of wine for $24 US. Muy fantastico!

This small winery has been making premium wines for 70 years and currently uses meticulous processes for its small batch varietals. After the informative tour, we had an excellent, long Uruguayan barbecue lunch under a leafy trellis outdoors, with excellent local cheese and beef, fresh salad, and grilled vegetables, paired with generous pourings of about 10 of their wines. Very memorable and fun.

Nothing special, small, family-oriented beach resort. Sands and water are OK, dirt roads, nothing fancy at all, an eatery or two.

Casa Grande is a family project in which the Italian tradition and the warmth of home can be felt as soon as you arrive. The first one welcoming you will be Zippolo, our charming dog. He will be followed by Washington, willing to share his passion for the vineyards. Florencia will invite you to try the wines she elaborates and Francesca will offer some delicious home made food to pair.
