DEFI01 Escape Game is a new way to have fun in Bourg en Bresse. It is a team game played from 3 to 6 players. As a team, the players have to look for hints hidden in the room and then put them together in order to solve the mistery and be able to get out in a limited time.
Did this escape game whilst on holiday in France, was excellent! Very inventive clues and good hints when really stuck. Staff had very good English and explained everything well.
Only thing that was slightly not applicable for total non-French speakers was that some of the written clues were in simple French. Not sure if this part is available in English.
Completed the game in 45 minutes and all parts worked perfectly. Great staff and great game. Suitable for a team of about 3-4 players of any age 12+ in my opinion. Thank you!

The royal church of Brou in Bourg-en-Bresse was built between 1505 and 1532 by Margaret of Austria as a monument to the memory of her husband, Philibert the Fair, Duke of Savoy. It is a masterpiece of the Flamboyant Gothic style and is richly ornamented with magnificent tombs, a fine altarpiece, statues and choir stalls that testify to the artistry of 16th century Flemish craftsmen. A museum is housed in the monastic buildings.
The craftmanship in this church and monestary is quite breathtaking. Both the stone masonry on the building and the sculpturing of the crypts. Do make the detour if you are in the vicinity. I also liked the way they use the monestary as an art gallery.

Personally I love roman churches. I was told I would hold my breath seing this gothic church, and I did. One cannot believe the colour of the light, the love for every detail, the stonework, the woodwork, the floot. I was deeply impressed and absolutely stunned. After all that it took a different mindset to go and watch the paintings. But that was, although not as spectaculair also worth the visit. The church is a first- class stunner!

This house is typical of 15th century architecture of the region and it is still in use today. Lifting the head up one can see a great example of the "colombage" construction technique.
