The church is very nice, but what I really liked was the outdoor Stations of the Cross path up the far side of the harbor cliff. At the top is a chapel that marks the spot where a hermit lived. He would blow a trumpet to alert the town of incoming ships in the middle ages. Very good views from the top.

Another beautiful property in a pretty part of Bandol countryside. We tasted whites, roses and reds. All were delicious. This winery has a US distributor, so you can make notes here and when you get back to the states order wine for US Delivery. Very professional albeit small production.

Excellent stay in this very small island having few villas and one hotel, 3 beachs ( only one public) and other snack bars and restaurants. Direct schuttle from Bandol city (7mn cross). Owned by Paul Ricard, the familly continue its maintenançe and reconstruction ( remain to do). Wonderfull visit but better to stay at least one night to take a rest.

Chapelle Notre-Dame de Pitie

Reviewed By J H H - McLean, Virginia

This lovely chapel perched high above Sanary-sur-Mer is easily accessible up the beautiful pedestrian walkway that climbs from the harbor to the surrounding hillside. The walk itself is very pleasant and you are rewarded with the Prospect of this relatively small c. 1560 chapel that has served Sanary-sur-Mer through war/invasion, religious strife and various plagues and still survives. The chapel has nice documentation (all in French) of the many faces of this church, and a very pleasant side garden. One of the historic highlights of our visit to Sanary-sur-Mer, and "away" from all the harbor front crowds.

Ile des Embiez

Ile des Embiez is located in south of France, in the Var Department (83), between Marseille and Toulon, in front of Six-Fours-les-Plages. The "natural island" is accessible all the year from the Brusc Marina in Six-Fours. Various accommodation facilities, restaurants, leisure, marina, seminars and events... on site.

You reach Ile des Embiez after a 12 minute trip from Brusc by ferry. Ile des Embiez is one of the two Islands by Paul Ricard, the founder of the famous Ricard drink. When you arrive at the island the first thing you see is the harbour with hundreds of sailing boats and motoryachts. There is a shop where you can buy groceries, boutiques and many restaurants as well as hotels and even a wine bar. Ile des Embiez has it's own wine and you can visit the wine cave. You can rent a bike or take the tourist train to take a trip around the island. The beauty of the island is too overwhelming to even describe it. One has to see it to understand it. If they ever ask me to come back I hope I would never have to leave it. It's stunning. !!!!

Here for a couple of day, I decided to break up at les Bains d’or&Spa after a long hall flight from Florida.. and what an sensational EXPERIENCE !! I choose the wonderful Phuket spa for a treat. I was speechless about the massage technics, the professionalism, the cleanest, about the amazing decor, and the cocooning atmosphere. I felt like I was a princess in a Moroccan Riad. And at the end of my spa I enjoyed an authentic perfumed leaf mint tea, I felt so spoiled .
I recommend everyone to stop by, here at les Bains d’or&Spa, Faty will warmly welcome you with her lovely smile. Thanks again for your kindness and your professionalism. See you later for sure!

Zoa Parc Animalier et Exotique

Reviewed By Simon M - Cambridge, United Kingdom

We spent two hours here on a very hot day. There is plenty of shade, and lots of tables for eating a picnic, which is sensible because the refreshments offer here is close to non-existent. This is a really good place for families with young children, in fact it was swarming with young families having a really great time. The animals definitely tick all the boxes: nice outdoor enclosures, healthy happy animals, very clean and no nasty odours. Lots of the animals appeal to kids, and to parents and grandparents. We saw a lot of three generation families enjoying the park. The plants are very good as well, but bear in mind this is not a true botanic garden (and it does not claim to be -- for that experience go to Monaco / Eze / Nice). The blending of plants and animals is truly harmonious and at peace with nature. Tariff: €9.50 adults, €7 children. Open 7/7 Feb -> Oct, Wednesday and weekend Nov -> Jan. Although the entry fee might look high you have to keep in mind that this is a private venture and looking after the animals is expensive. Take care when walking around, the site is on a hillside and there are trip hazards on the paths. Toilet facilities exist but are barely adequate. Parking is free and plentiful. Soft drinks and crisps and ice cream available at the buvette. Souvenir shop, but not very impressive.

If your looking for adventure and you don’t mind getting wet then I highly recommend Kite Surfing. Even if you don’t speak French, Philippe will have you up and away in no time. Already into kitting but you left your kit at home, Philippe can rent you the latest from Cabrina and drop you off in the bay with his boat then come get you when your done. Wetsuits, harness, boots, boards, kites of all sizes and all the safety gear as well. Highly recommended. Rick
