Royal Pines Resort Golf Club

Whilst this Resort is not on the Beach, it was a great venue for a Function- our work Christmas Party. Drinks by the pool, on arrival, ( they made a great Mojhito), the room was impeccable, ( just take care in the shower/bath), pre dinner drinks in another bar, then onto our Function Room.
The seafood was plentiful, great Smorgasboard of quality meats & then very tasty sweets. Decor , service and quality of food and wine was first class. I am not sure who organised the band, but they were great also. I believe there was a late bar/ nightclub on the premises that allowed others to party-on, so every need was met.
Been to lots of similar functions on the GC an this is certainly one of the best. Thank You.

SkyPoint Climb

SkyPoint Climb takes place on the top of the Q1 building in Surfers Paradise and at 270 metres in the air, it is one of Australia's highest external building walks. Starting on level 77 of SkyPoint Observation Deck, Climbers will enter the open air dressed in a full body suit and harness. Following their Climb guide, participants will then traverse up towards the crow's nest located at the highest point of the Climb at around 270 metres above the ground. Regular stops will be taken to admire the stunning 360 degree views of the Gold Coast region including the golden Beaches, city skyline and lush green hinterland. Climbers will then descend to level 77. Altogether the experience takes approximately 90 minutes including a briefing session and the time on the Climb course.

Metricon Stadium

I have found this stadium to be a well run, well constructed and well presented show. Comfortable seats with excellent views of the footy. Ample toilets and good quality food/bevvy outlets. There is a friendly and welcoming vibe at Metricon. Probably could provide better information about parking around the stadium. Was difficult being from out of town(and bringing 4 kids to the footy)to chase down clear info. Although the public transport offered is very good. My crew loves a visit to Metricon.

Every time I drop into the botanic Gardens for a coffee and contemplation I am amazed at how peaceful it is amongst the hustle and bustle around it. It is really well maintained and peaceful although it can get hectic on the weekends. The coffee shop is great for an unpretentious caffeine fix.
There are places to have a picnic and for the children to run.

Black Swan Lake

Such a beautiful, peaceful place to have a picnic. Very relaxing and lovely for the children to watch the swans, ducks and other wildlife. It really is gorgeous but the Council are planning on filling it in to give the Turf Club more parking. It will be a sad day for the wildlife and those of us who appreciate it.

This is a favourite park for my toddler. He loves the pedal bikes on their track plus the bouncing pillow. There is also a small bike track for younger kids and lots of water play areas.
My tip is to coming midweek though as it can get quite busy.

Surfer's Paradise Beach

The three-kilometer strip of golden sand between Surfers Paradise and the Pacific Ocean is Australia's iconic beach, a postcard-perfect locale that conjures up 'paradise' to millions. Throughout the year, our beach welcomes swimmers, joggers, surfers and strollers from around the Gold Coast, around Australia and around the World. There are a few simple things you can do to ensure that your day at Surfers Paradise beach is a safe and happy one. Always swim between the red and yellow flags. If the flags aren't up, it may not safe to swim, so always ask a lifeguard if it's safe to swim if you cannot see the flags. Check for additional beach signage, as this may change every day. Read the safety warnings. Check with a lifeguard about beach and water conditions if you're not sure it's safe. Put your hand up and stay calm if you get in trouble in the water. Stay sun safe: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on sunglasses. Leave valuables at home or in your apartment.
