Immerse yourself in the Argentine culture by eating and drinking as the locals do. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves for a hands-on experimentation at Teresita’s home kitchen. Learn how to prepare Empanadas Argentinas. Teresita will share regional techniques, ingredients, and a family empanada recipe that has been passed down over the generations.
Teresita and her husband Raul, retired professionals, run a B&B IN
Androgue, but the main attraction is the tour of the markets and shops with Teresita, then cooking empanadas, followed by a fine 5 course meal of real Argentinian home cooking.
We had escabeche, empanadas (we made em!), a rustic bean stew, stuffed veal cutlets, and a wild dessert of soft cheese topped with candied cayote, and plenty of wine with discussion of the wine areas and wineries.
Getting there is actually pretty easy. Mini bus from BA to Androgue followed by a 5 block walk. Took us a little less than an hour each way.
These folks are the real deal! So friendly and open. I liked the opportunity to see how the real folks live, work, eat drink.
Highly recommended!

I had visited this excellent museum twice before so took a friend on a long, expensive taxi ride to see it. The entrance is not obvious and when we eventually found it there was a car outside with someone obviously connected with the museum, who happened to speak english. He said it was closed because it was raining. I work on a uk heritage railway and able to show him our cards which confirm we have passed their safety course. It made no difference. be sure it is not cllosed before making the journey. Contact details are on their website
