El Louvre is probably the very first bar tourists get to when they arrive to Remedios. There are not many bars to hang around in Remedios all day and till midnight so everyone ends up here. The service here has improved significantly; a small tip will definitely bring a smile to servers' faces and might make your drinks a little stronger. Beer costs around 1cuc, pina colada around 3cuc. They don't seem to have live bands but there's salsa playing from the speakers. From here you can observe the life of whole Remedios.

restaurant dans une petite ferme ( poules , canards cochons , chèvres)démonstration sur la canne a sucre très bonne nourriture pas cher .Peu se faire a pied de Remedios si bon marcheur
We had a very enjoyable meal with live music as entertainment. After lunch There was a demonstration by a 72 yr old man who climbed a very tall palm tree with great agility. Said he used to climb a hundred a day but now not so much.

We were taken here by our local guide who reckoned it was much better than the hotel where we were staying. He was right. We had to wait outside for about 40 minutes as the restaurant was full when we arrived but we were assured that a table would soon be available. The menu offers chicken, pork or seafood based dishes which are all cooked fresh in Cuban style with rice and vegetables. Lovely staff, very apologetic for our having to wait despite the fact that it was not their fault. Comfortable, cosy and quite small but very relaxing and enjoyable. Really an unexpected find in the dark residential side streets of this small town. Worth a visit if you are looking for somewhere authentic.

Enjoyed this quirky little place on the beach during my stay in Caibarien. Had a few drinks, excellent mojitos! There is a little bit of everything here. 24H food and drink service. This is a bar, a restaurant and there are also a few rooms to rent.
This place is located on the beach. You get view of the ocean, a breeze. There is tons of clever and detailed decorative elements throughout. There is a pond with live fish and crabs, etc. Even have a couple of Cuban hutia in a cage. You have to check it out. It is hard to describe.

On our way from La Habana to Cayo Coco, we stopped in Santa Clara because of its historical meaning.
We took the chance to eat. We looked for a "paladar" (private home that serves meals) but, as all were closed or without food, people recommended this grill.
And so glad they did!
For about 10 CUC (+- Euro 10) we ate and drank until we dropped, and even danced around the tables.
The meats were amazing. The staff was very accommodating, and the place was really something.....
Definitely recommend it!

The lady chef here Senora Melva is a brilliant cook. We had a wonderful lunch here and wished we had returned for dinner. The portions were generous and the five course meal was delicious. It was a perfect experience. The husband was our waiter and he was gracious and lovely.
