This was a hoot! We rode on a 100 plus year old train to get to the sugar museum and 4 of us were lucky enough ro ride right up in the locomotive. It was not up there but the view and the opportunity could not be passed up! He history of sugar in Cuba was very interesting and it helps to have a translator with you.

I am not a big fan of museums, but this one is really interesting. Before your visit read a little bit about the feast Las Parrandas, guides there don´t speak english, but their spanish is very easy to understand if you know at least few words. They try to make their explanation very funny and help you to understand to all aspects of this interesting feast. I was happy to see it :)

Recently, about a month ago, this bar's place was taken over by a new establishment, a winery. It stretches over to the corner of the building where there was a souvenir shop in the past. The interior looks amazing and the exterior changed considerably too, it most definitely is a different form of entertainment right now.

Unfortunately, El Guije is undergoing refurbishment right now, like most of the buildings in Remedios for its 500th anniversary which will take place around the 24th June 2015. Hopefully, It will be the same sort of entertainment under the same name but newer and better.
