The Tex-Mex restaurant Appalooza was a discovery that made Spiez feel to be a town that is looking forward to more than one group of people. The excellent menu at the Appalooza allowed both tex-mex and good Swiss cuisine. Definitely a restaurant to be sampled. If the weather is warm, try an outside table.

The friendly atmosphere at Piraten Bar can be enjoyed almost every night of the week. We especially liked the informal atmosphere and the range of drinks available until late in the evening.

Nice location by the marina, fish, meat and italian food. Nice food, prices by swiss standards and staff is nice and available when needed.
Only drawback, it is not possible to book a table on the Terrace. First come, first served, so come early. They start to serve around 5h30-6hpm for dinner.

Recommended by a friend, we walked into this bar on a Saturday afternoon thinking it was a little quiet only to find the most amazing outside bar at the back which is where everyone was! We didn't intend to eat as we'd booked dinner at our hotel but the smell of the grill was just too tempting, food is excellent, as is the service wine was lovely and the atmosphere was excellent. Best bar we visited in Thun area, view over the lake to the Mountains is just fab.

We went there 3 times - two for lunch and one for dinner. It's just perfect.
My wife loved the chicken-avocado salad. I loved the veal steak with asparagus.
And the desserts - well... let's say they're out of this world.
Also the waiters are really attentive and the owners pass by from time to time to check if everything's OK.
Five stars.

Italienisches Spezialitätenrestaurant
We had a light lunch here on the Terrace overlooking the river in Thun. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was good (a mixed Italian antipasto and a pizza). Reasonable prices for what we had.

Situated in a post-modern looking shopping centre, 90 min from the italian border at a highway intersection in Spiez (Thunersee). Right In the middle of Bern, Interlaken and the Lötschberg tunnel (motorail train).
This Italian eatery was a good experience.
The interior is new and modern, a lot of space and air to breathe.
The food was decent, not extraordinary. The service was good, quick and welcoming.
Reasonable prices.

This place is not fancy, however the food was top notch. It was recommended by the tourist information center by the train center. I knew it had to be good because lots of locals were eating there. The views were awesome from their deck. The food is prepared fresh so you have to wait a little but it was worth the wait. The pricing is also very fair. The menu is limited but you can be sure find something you would like. I had the duck breast with couscous and melon and it was only 20 swiss francs.
