The highly trained Misono chefs are known as entertainers as well as culinary masters and create an unforgettable dining experience every time as they slice, dice and juggle utensils, while tossing prawns and eggs. A range of teppanyaki banquets are prepared at your table featuring combinations of fresh seafood, tender steak and succulent chicken. All banquets are served with miso soup, followed by salad, prawn appetiser, hibachi vegetables and steamed or fried rice. Step inside and live the moment. If you were taught never to play with your food then perhaps it’s time to break the rules. Expected the unexpected...amplified at Misono.
We visited Misono at the Marriott Surfers Paradise for a birthday dinner for my partner! It’s a lively, fun teppanyaki experience and the food is good - similar to any teppanyaki restaurant on the Coast really. Dennis our chef was really entertaining and doubled as a DJ with great music blaring from his prep trolley! This is not the place to go if you want an intimate dinner - it’s loud and noisy but lots of fun!

Just love it here, the food is always excellent. Good quality and freshest produce. Service is always friendly, drinks not exorbitantly priced.
Situated on a corner so you can watch the comings and goings with outdoor undercover dining it is a wonderful place to eat. Specials are always interesting and the signature dish of crab lasagna is a local tradition. 100%

An extraordinary gastronomic encounter perfectly suited to Palazzo Versace, the place for classical, sophisticated fine dining. The epitome of elegance a night at Vanitas provides a luxurious fine dining experience with meticulous attention to detail and impeccable service. The regularly changing a la carte menu offers a diverse range of fresh seafood and succulent meats created by Chef de Cuisine, Paul Froggatt.
We dined here on Saturday night for a special occasion. Having been here some time ago for The Tasting menu we were really looking foreword to trying it again. The car park next door was closed, pouring rain so we opted to park at the hotel. Not cheap but saved getting wet.
We were seated quickly and the menu explained. We advised we would be doing the Tasting and then asked by our waitress if we would like a drink. We ordered a Champagne and wine and as it arrived, 2 glasses off Champagne arrived for the first course. We might have saved a considerable cost ( read $60 for 2 glasses) if the waitress had mentioned drinks were on the way and we needn’t order.
First course was Snapper and unfortunately the menu doesn’t mention that is was cured in citrus and thus nearly raw. I loved it but my wife was very disappointed. We noticed 2 tables beside us with the same reaction when their plates arrived.
The rest of the Tasting was exceptional and service was relaxed and not pushed despite a very large table obviously well known to management being given most of the attention in the restaurant The matched wines were outstanding. One small mistake, our waitress emptied the bottle for my glass of red and delivered about 1/4 inch of sediment. When I pointed out the error the reaction cost our waitress a tip - she was very abrupt, replaced my glass with a thud and delivered a short filled portion!
We enjoyed our night but would probably go elsewhere next time we want to celebrate an occasion.

Dined here in March 2018, fortunately for us not many people were there as was a weeknight and we dined late. Table by the water.
The service was fantastic, the waiter was very attentive to our needs and the food was delicious and delivered in a timely manner. Highly recommend this restaurant! Enjoy.

JFX Restaurant in Southport Central , Gold Coast was quite busy this Sunday evening . Japanese cuisine, very fresh and tasty. Our small group shared some of the dishes ordered. Efficient staff , good prices. Sit inside or out. We shared a bottle of sparkling Sake first. Special menus of noodle and rice bowls ; stone pot rice and noodles; pork belly rice bowl and crumbed oysters/ prawns were savoured. Green tea followed.
JFX in Southport is one of the many restaurants in this area serving quite a large Japanese/ Asian influx. Handy to the many large hi-rise accommodation and student apartments here. On light rail/ bus routes.

Matsuzaka Teppanyaki was established in Jan 2005 and located in Aqua Building , Labrador... On Broadwaters, the soothing sea breeze and calm views makes Matsuzaka a very relaxing place on the Gold Coast. Either it is a romantic dinner alfresco or a get together party in front of the teppan table, we will make it a special night for you. The word Teppanyaki is derived from teppan, which means iron plate and yaki means grilled, it refers to the dishes cooked on iron plate. With quality steak, chicken and mouth watering sea food, Matsuzaka will definitely satisfy even the most experienced teppanyaki guests. Try our exclusive house sauce of three peppercorn and honey mustard with your dishes and you will know why Matsuzaka is one of the best teppanyaki on the Coast. Our Chefs are arguably one of the best in the business and quality is what they strive for. Manager on site Edgar, will take care of all your needs and make sure that you have a pleasant and wonderful experience.
Not a Japanese in sight... way overpriced. Food very very average. Alcohol even more expensive. I have my doubts about the cookie cutter scallops. We wont be going back guys. Sorry.

Great local restuarant
Loved the garlic and parmesan pizza however when we got to the vegetarian pizza we found some questionable hair in it. The owner joked it looked like fur and discarded it. Considering it was found under all the toppings and I don't own a pet, this is worrying. Perhaps if we had brought it up sooner it wouldn't have been treated as a joke. We left the rest of the pizza and took the pasta home to only discard it after feeling grossed out by the thought of our experience.
