Our friends that live in Fountainbleu took us here for a fantastic 3 hour lunch. I could never have found Chef Gauthier's wonderful place on my own.We had the most wonderful creative Small discovery plates ranging from scallop carpaccio to radish/asparagus veloute to asparagus with foie gras to morilles fraiches with egg to filet de bar de ligne to torteau Roscoff to Iberian ham to wonderful cheeses to desserts to petit fours. They also put jars of intereting jars of candied nuts with our coffee. You enter on the ground floor and wind your way up the staircase to the second floor dining/cooking area. The chef was very nice and had just returned from a visit to the US. The rest of the staff was just as nice and very efficient. I strongly recommend you walk into town to visit the old Cathedral that was begun before Notre Dame. On your way note some of the buildings that are more than 500 years old. It was a one hour drive from Fountainbleu

Very good address but the room misses some light. The service is average and the menu offers only 2 main dishes. But this is the price to pay for freshness and here, you are not disapointed. Vegetables and fruits are coming from the nearby market. Overall a good experience$

This restaurant is owned and managed by Patrick Gauthier the Michelin starred Chef who owns the attached Madeleine restaurant. Le crieur de vin is still a very high calibre restaurant with excellent French food and service. More affordable and less formal than La Madeleine but there is no compromise on quality.

We ate , with a friend lunch at this very pleasant restaurant just out of the centre of town. Ver classic, great steaks, excellent starters , traditional service . Very little atmosphere at lunch time but may be better in the evening . Its the food you go for though.

We took our French Friend Yvette to L'Helix on November 30th. The restaurant, a Logis de France , is so typical or the region that it may well be a film set. the 18.50 euro menu is absolutely fine . You get lovely home made pate du maison followed by excellent choice of entrees and mains, cheese and then pudding. All is good , copious and served with a speed almost unheard of in a French Restaurant. Try the poached eggs in red wine sauce for something unusual and delicious. All the mains apart from the salmon are delicious stews and fricassees served in little casseroles. Wines are very expensive though apart from the pichets which were ,in fact very good. Enjoy the food but mind the steps- Our friend , who is 73 took a real tumble on the way out because the door was so difficult to open she lost her balance.Luckily no serious harm done but that door needs sorting out!

While passing through Sens we happened to walk past ThaiTae and stopped in for dinner.
The food was excellent. Delicious. And the Thai desserts were very special. The Chef came out from the kitchen to introduce herself. She was very charming. And her food is sooo good.
The service was very good, attentive and cheerful. Although the food is cooked from fresh ingredients with nothing made before hand, the wait for the meal to arrive was only a few minutes.
The restaurant is off the beaten track, but it is well worth seeking out.

Sens is a beautiful city that most skiers overlook when heading down to the Alps, they don't know what they are missing. Those who decide to make a stop there can be rewarded by visiting the historic town, and this restaurant is right in the center a hundred yards from the Cathedral and the covered market, on a pedestrian street. The food, decor and service is very warm and friendly, authentic food that has the exact same feeling as when you eat in a nice restaurant in Haute Savoie in the Alps.

Small, fresh menu with attentive staff. Good spot and a welcomed addition to the town s lunchtime-especially on market day!

Went for dinner this evening and we were very surprised. Huge pizzas! Oh my word, we brought most of it home. Thin crusts, loads of toppings, absolutely delicious. If you are in the area I would most definitely go there.
