.....definitely a great place for a good dinner. The owners, Erik Hermans and Karin van Eeuwijk, were inspired by the "fabrique des limonades" in Vonnas (Rhône-Alpes, France) to set up their restaurant in the harbor of Streefkerk, floating on a pontoon on the water of the Lek river. My wife and I visited The Lemonade Factory for some 5 years in the initial - smaller - set-up; some 5 years ago, it was replaced by a significantly larger edifice that incorporates a restaurant, a bistro and a 6-room hotel. The design of the new building is remarkable, with a zig-zagged roof suggesting a true factory, and a big chimney as eye-catcher that features the word "Lemonade" in neon light. The restaurant is very spacious with it's high ceiling, which reduces noise and is an asset for people with hearing difficulties. You'll have a wonderful view on the Lek river from any place in the restaurant during daytime, so it's a great place for lunch. The philosophy of the restaurant has consistently been to offer a good meal at a reasonable price, and this is still true in the new, larger, set-up. In fact, it's now a luxurious restaurant, with great food and good amenities. We came for dinner; you may choose the 3-course "Bib Gourmand" menu, but also go for the 3- or 4-course "surprise" menus, or even a 5-course showoff. It was all very in style. We combined our surprising menus by the wine choices of the sommelier, which were well made. Similarly fine were the desserts, the cheese platter (at an additional fee), whilst a great espresso helped us to travel back home along the narrow dykes and roads of the Alblasserwaard polder. In summary: a restaurant that's worth the trip!

Good food, good atmosphere and good service! We had today's special which was mussles. Dessert was delicious: creme broulee with nougat ice cream and strawberries with parfait. We were a family with two teenage girls, 15 and 17 which also enjoyed the place.

A good host knows when you want his attention and when you want him to stay in the background. The host in this restaurant does not. Dining here meant we had to pay attention to unnecessary explanations, including some ridiculous wine-for-dummies talk, while we were here for a family gathering, spending some precious time together. The food actually wasn't bad.

May be listed as Eetcafe Lumiere instead of Lumiere Eetcafe. I have photos from inside and out. Food was good, its in the center of town.
My wife and I ate here last night, wanting a change from our hotel. After a few days in Holland we are beginning to suss out Dutch eating habits: large portions and chips with everything. This place is no different, but, being forewarned, we stuck to main plus dessert. Our food (stuffed pork loin plus goose breast) was quite OK if not outstanding. We were surprised to see that all dishes come with chips + mayo + apple sauce, even the fish dishes! Desserts were good and I enjoyed my chocolate panna cotta. Service was fast and friendly. The Sauvignon blanc by the glass was very good. This is clearly a very popular place - it was full up and tables were turned regularly. It has a nice, rather quaint atmosphere, especially in the long cellar-like room where we sat. The menu is very large covering most meats, fish and veggie dishes. Prices are typical of the area - we paid just over €60. You do need to book ahead to be sure of getting a table.

I have dined at the Wildeman at least 5 times for lunch, but was too lazy to review. Today's lunch was so good that I decided to finally review. I have always been very pleased with their food & today was no exception. I started with grilled scallops served in a curry flavored, very light stock sauce-yummy! My main was Veal cut in small cubes--perfectly cooked & presented. It's a beautiful location, not too far off the A27. Great wine list--we shared a 2001 Barolo which was fantastic.(Sorry-it was the last bottle). Great Strawberry-Melon desert, served on an Almond paste. Superior service. Everyone in our party was very pleased with their food & 2 dine there frequently. If you are in the area, don't miss it.

The Polder kitchen is a restaurant with local product. The restaurant is a gastronomic restaurant. Parking in de area is free
We had dinner in this restaurant and it was an excellent experience.
We were welcomed by a friendly hostess and escorted to our table. We kicked off with a nice glass of Prosecco combined with some nice amuses. This was followed by a five course dinner with delicious and lovely presented dishes. Three of these stood out for me, being a fantastic veal tartare to start with, followed by a lovely green peas experience and beautifully presented dish with Paice. The main with duck was a bit disappointing as the anounced crispy skin was more greassy than crispy. Desert was fine but didn't get a high mark.
We didn't go for the offered wine pairing but decided to make a choice out the nice wine list, drinking a Chilean Chardonnay followed by a great Santenay. We rounded off with a nice cup of coffee with a set of home made sweets. Service was immaculate and friendly. All in all a great experience.

Brasserie Springer is located next to the beautiful and historic "Springer park" of Schoonhoven. For the concept of our restaurant, we have been inspired by the impressionists, which are the contemporaries of the landscape architect Leonard Springer. This inspiration applies as well to our style of cooking. Our chef is not your traditional recipe cook, but he cooks the way the impressionists painted: with heart, playfulness and craftsmanship. Inspired further by his team, the seasons and their ingredients, he brings food with passion. We, the team of Brasserie Springer look forward to welcome you in our restaurant for a great culinary evening!
Per Boerenfijn is a well known chef in the area that I call home. Springer is a family restaurant with a rich and sometimes classic cuisine, Per cooks with rich sauces and loves to cook game, venison and we'll just loves food and honest ingredients. His daughter Margot runs the place and is a sommelier extraordinaire!
I love coming here because it's like family and the food is ALWAYS excellent.

In the heart of the historic town of Schoonhoven you will find Eetcafe de Steenenbrug. Since 1995 it has been a place to have lunch or dinner in a warm atmosphere. We offer a broad variety of dishes on our menu and have a special 3-course menu every week.

We had one the best meals of our trip at this hidden gem. It is larger inside than it appears from the outside. Menu is varied with an excellent dessert menu. Reasonably priced with excellent quality. Drinks were also reasonably priced. One thing that really impressed us was that the guy who seated us aslo recognized that we spoke english and let the waitress know before she came to the table. Staff was very friendly and service was excellent. My wife and I both had the Tournedos which were prepared perfectly. My daughter had Sea Bass which was also prepared well. The side dishes were excellent. Dessert and after dinner drinks were wonderful.
