Portimao is a sailor’s delight, thanks to its calm waters and beautiful conditions. Plenty of elite international competitions happen here, but you don’t have to be a professional to set sail. Cruising the coast on the double-masted Santa Bernarda pirate ship is a family favorite. On dry land, you can wander the lovely Alvor boardwalk, enjoy a succulent seafood meal or zip around the go-kart track at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

Superb fillet steaks (perfectly cooked), tender lamb shank and duck breast enjoyed in a very pleasant atmosphere by friendly attententive staff. A perfect evening and quite inexpensive. Travelled for over an hour and stayed overnight for this. Highly recommended - we will certainly return.

We went for dinner one evening and found this restaurant to be exceptional, both in food and service quality.
For starters we had avocado with prawns and onion soup and for mains 2 people had steak and I had an omelette. For desserts we had flambe,
The presentation of the meals was first class and the servers were extremely attentive. Lots of people obviously were return customers as they were greeted like friends when they arrived. We ate outside and by the time we left it was full.
A little gem of a restaurant with a first class menu and very high quality food and service. To be recommended if you are in the area.

At Restaurante Bon Bon your fine-dining experience will encompass exquisite dishes from the seasonal Tasting Menu as well as giving you the opportunity to opt for wine pairing if desired. Great attention to detail and impeccable service has awarded Restaurante Bon Bon its first Michelin Star in November 2015 and its tranquil and welcoming ambience ensure an ideal setting no matter the season.
We visited here a few days ago for our anniversary & it was well worth it. The service from all staff was impeccable, plus the chef actually serving & visiting all diners is exceptional. We had the 4 course tasting menu, which with all the surprise courses as well we left stuffed, wowed, & wishing we lived in Portugal to return. We've experienced a few Michelin starred restaurants over the years, Bon Bon has out shone them all!

A Typico Portuguese Restaurant with exceptional Staff and superb Food
We celebrated New Year's Eve with friends at this restaurant. The hospitality provided by Fernando and Paulo was superb from start to finish. Paulo had decorated the restaurant and this gave the place a real party atmosphere. The food was exceptionally good with a choice provided for each of the five courses. Thank goodness we had booked our table well in advance as the restaurant was full.
It was a wonderful evening and excellent value for money.

Excellent grilled fish
This was the first time that I ate in this restaurant and it won’t be the last. From the quality of the food, to the first class service, it was the best that I have been experienced in Alvor. Steaks were cooked to perfection, delicious pepper sauce and home made cheesecake to die for! Nice little touch of a complimentary port given with the bill. If only all restaurants were as good as this one. Highly recommended!

A bar / bistro located at the Dunas do Alvor Complex. Serving breakfast, snacks ,full evening meals plus a SPECIAL ORDERS menu (24 hour notice) Soft drinks, beers and wines.
A return visit to Marco''s bar & bistro, where Marco, Jackie and their staff do everything possible to provide a pleasant dining experience! The Sunday Roast was amazing and Jackie even provided a Gluten free pudding for one of our party, 'the extra mile' .
Sandwiches should have a special name they are so good! and the coleslaw....what more can you say?

Pequeno restaurante tradicional, que se dedica á Confeçao e divulgação da comida regional algarvia.
I generally avoid Portuguese traditional restaurants for a number of reasons tho this restaurant has now become my favourite.
I have no idea how many courses we had but each with delicious and well proportioned. Traditional food served with imagination and quality in equally comfortable surroundings with attentive and polite staff.
Booking is a must, even inJanuary.

Charming eatery run by ‘Portuguese English’ couple. Second time here, and did not disappoint. The most fabulous steak, being local meat, with salad and the usual. Lovely wine on offer, finished off with an awesome fig, almond and chocolate tart (all locally sourced). For three of us, two bottles of wine, bottled water etc so reasonable at €35 ph given exceptional quality. Easily my favourite whilst here, and will be back!

A Ria is situated in Ferragudo along the quay side before the local market off the main square. Ferragudo is one of the most picturesque fishing villages in Portugal. A Ria is a small restaurant which compliment Ferragudo specializing in local Algarvean cuisine such as Cataplana & Monk fish rice, cuttlefish and clams is the specialty of the house. Your visit to Ferragudo and A Ria would not be complete with out tasting fresh fish grilled across the road, served with potatoes and salad but will be happy to provide home made chips and fresh vegetable if preferred. The menu caters for everyone with some excellent steak options and a small children's menu. A Ria prepares all the dishes at the time of order ensuring each dish is fresh NB.this can cause some delays in the height of the summer when the restaurant is full, you can take this time to relax and enjoy a drink or a bottle of good quality Portuguese wine. WiFi is now available. A Ria is currently closed on Mondays. To guarantee your table Reservations are excepted.
Had a fabulous meal of Scorpion fish which was recommended by the Manager. Brought the fish to the table and then came back and let us know how much it would cost - 42 euros for the two of us with potatoes and vegetables. It was then prepared and cooked on the b-b-q at the quayside, which I can honestly say was delicious. Staff were great and it was a very enjoyable evening. Book ahead as it does get busy.

We have been to this restaurant for dinner, which was great and we really enjoyed it. However we went back for lunch - what a bargain 14.50euro for couvert, main course and dessert plus all the wine you can drink for 2.50euro. There are about 10 main courses, including wild boar stew, rabbit stew, oven baked fish, cataplana etc. A really great meal, all the staff are friendly and you are encouraged to have a long leisurely lunch in lovely surroundings, with great views if you can get a table near the windows.
