Last year I had an Easter Sunday lunch here. The set menu was simple but nonetheless excellent. I had foie gras to start and then rare fillet steak for my main course. Dessert was an alcoholic sorbet. All accompanied by a delicious local wine. This was 11 months ago yet I can still tell you everything about the meal.

Fondues, Raclette, grilled meats, regional charcuteries, ... For the sake of taste and good things, we added to these recipes the chef's touch; this touch of magic that makes all the difference. Raccard is a family, a small enthusiastic and caring team ! You are all welcome !
We came for a raclette dinner that was delicious. The service was attentive and friendly, and we found the prices reasonable.. We returned for one of their specials that featured fois gras, and it was also extremely tasty. This was our favorite restaurant in Hautr-Nendaz.

This charming little chalet-style restaurant has a big choice of traditional dishes that are nicely cooked and neatly presented. However, the problem is that the atmosphere in here is so bad that all the good things are completely outdone by the very unfriendly staff – which is mainly due to their total lack of understanding for customer care. There is no warm welcome at the door. In fact, you almost feel as if you were disturbing the people who work here. Consequently, service is slow and sloppy, especially if you come with kids. And once the food arrives, don't be surprised if you are told to eat quickly because there is another reservation for the table you occupy. Shocking! Never again.

Good eats in copious amounts at reasonable prices for a ski resort in a fun atmosphere. Service rapid and polite. Go for the all you can eat fajitas with desert and mojito.

Wide Italian menu but since the conversion to incorporate the previous Terrace also now has a proper pizze oven. Chose Pizze Scoglio - Pomodoro, mozzarella, frutti di mare. Lovely thin, crisp base. Copious king prawns and mussels in shells on top - finger bowl supplied. Delicious. Very good, although not cheap, wine list. Finished off with Sorbetti di frutta con alcol - Sorbetto all ́arancio con arancetto; Sorbetto di limone al «Mirto»; and Sorbetto all ́albicocca albicocche. Not the choice for a designated driver!

But we went back this time. And for the life of me, I cannot understand why we had left it so long. Great food, gentle but attentive service and all in all a really nice experience.
We promise no to leave it so long next time.

I'm used to swiss prices, I live here. But the prices charged for what we're very basic meals was crazy. My friend ordered a ham and cheese Sandwich, it turned up with two slices of bread flat on the plate, one with cheese on, one with ham on. We laughed and she put them together to make the Sandwich herself.
I ordered the consommé, which was all but a a tiny bowl of stock.
That said the one lucky friend that ordered the spaghetti bolognaise said it was really good.
I wouldn't visit here again, nor recommend it. They need a better chef, menu and a bit of a shake up.

We had a tremendous, traditional Swiss meal, and an extremely enjoyable evening from start to finish.
I liked the triple choice starter, which was a little adventurous, but made sure there was something for everybody.
I loved the triple meat main, which was cooked and served to perfection. OK, so it was a bit difficult to differentiate the meats, because the seasoning was pretty strong, but the quality of the cooking and the flavours in the accompanying dishes were quite excellent.
The triple choice dessert was a great way to finish - enough quantity and enough variation, finishing the meal with a delightful symmetry.
Service was outstanding.
Don’t miss this off your itinerary!

Although the staff is lovely and the steak dinner fantastic, we must have missed the brief on the famous raclette. We were told that you must have a reservation specifically for raclette if you want to eat it. A French friend, who had been turned away earlier in the week, said it was supposed to be one of the best so we went with high expectations. At the risk of sounding näive or uncultured, perhaps it's a cultural thing, but we were disappointed and shocked by the cost. Essentially, you are served puddles of melted raclette cheese on a dessert plate that you are expected to eat with boiled potatoes, small pickles and pearl onions, placed on the table, family style. That's it. Cheese, potatoes and two jarred condiments. The plates keep being refilled until you indicate that you've had enough, which we discovered when a fourth round was offered. That's it, the whole thing. We left, all 9 of us (one had steak, the rest, cheese palooza) with a $450 check, hungry and wondering what we did wrong. In fairness, we had a magnum and additional bottle of wine and three bottles of water on the check as well. We still don't know if the raclette is supposed to be a starter and you are expected to order something else for dinner or if folks really just eat multiple plates of melted cheese, potatoes and condiments. We suspect that it is a celebrated tradition that we will chalk up as an experience but since we prefer the annual raclette experience that we have in German Christmas markets, we don't feel like we need to do or pay Swiss prices for that again there. Of course we recognize that dining out in Switzerland is costly but this meal in particular felt shockingly expensive for what we ate. Perceived value of raclette "dinner" was not good however, the fabulous steak dinner seemed much more reasonable.

We were lucky to get at table outside as this place is clearly popular with regular locals and tourists walking the bisses. Conveniently situation at the cross roads of Bisse de Vex, Bisse Vieux and Bisse de Milieu it's a great place to stop for lunch. The staff have a lovely relaxed warmth and friendliness. The food was lovely - just what was needed after a long walk to build up an appetite. It's reasonably priced. Having tried this one and the one just further up the road I'd choose this one every time. If you're walking from Veysonnaz on the Bisse de Vex when you get to the sign saying "restaurant 10 minutes" - just go straight ahead up the steep hill and you'll find this restaurant.
