Kommetjie (Afrikaans for "small basin," approximately pronounced cawma-key) is a small town near Cape Town, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It lies about halfway down the west coast of the Cape Peninsula, at the southern end of the long wide beach that runs northwards towards Chapman's Peak and Noordhoek.

At the Foodbarn Restaurant, we serve the food that Franck is famous for … delicious and decadent ‘fine-dining’ style food but in a super relaxed and characterful old barn.At the Deli during the day, you are invited into our ‘home-from-home’ by the tantalizing aroma’s of the fresh bread and the best coffee in the Valley, the uber friendly and caring service, chef Joccelyn’s delicious creations, and more.At night the Deli is transformed into a delightful tapas bar serving inspired dishes with amazing textures and flavours.Whichever Foodbarn you are in … we look forward to spoiling you
What a gem! The French-born chef certainly knows how to serve up a good lunch. Without doubt this is the best eating experience in Cape Town. It serves classic French-style food without all the gimmicks currently conjured up by some of the other top restaurants in the city and surrounding area. It is pleasantly situated in a farmstead setting and firmly focused on giving the diner an exquisite experience. As a top end restaurant it is also reasonably priced. We prefer lunch so that we can take in the ambience of the little village but we have also been there for dinner, which was equally memorable. Everything was cooked to perfection and the wines were very palatable. Encroyable, as the French would say.

Named after the year in which Steenberg was established, Bistro Sixteen82 first opened its doors in 2009, and has been the tapas and bistro-style Darling of the dining world ever since. An innovative and interactive wine and food destination, the Bistro sits adjacent to Steenberg’s winery, and spills into its surrounding indigenous Gardens with a terraced dining area leading to reflective water features, unfurling into views of the magnificent stone Mountains and expansive winelands. The Bistro Sixteen82 menu is a constant evolution, keeping up with seasonal produce and featuring inventive dishes that compliment the finest locally sourced ingredients. With Breakfast, Lunch and late-afternoon Tapas menus to choose from, the Bistro provides fine dining with an inimitable contemporary spirit. Executive Chef, Kerry Kilpin, love to create food which is seasonal, flavourful and bursts with freshness. "My greatest inspirations are derived from significant occasions in my life. On my travels to Thailand I developed a love and passion for Asian food. From shopping at the local food markets to creating my first authentic Thai dish, I was in heaven. You will notice a common thread in what I do and who I am. Love. I cook with love and my food is love." Internationally, Bistro Sixteen82 has been recognised in the list of 20 of the World’s Best Winery Restaurants by Canada’s renowned Wine Access magazine. Locally, listings included prominent mentions in Fleur du Cap’s Top 100 Places; Eat in Cape Town; and EAT OUT’s Best Bistros list.
Firstly the wine tasting, well organised, knowledgeable, friendly staff and fabulous wine. The Capensis chardonnay is great, I don't drink much white wine but we visited a second time just for this wine. The setting is beautiful, modern and relaxing.
The bistro -1682 was very good, popular and trendy. We had the chef's choice as we wanted to try something different, all were tasty and well delivered. A good place to visit to enjoy good wine and food in a lovely setting.

This unprepossessing little restaurant tucked away just off the Kommetjie main road serves unbelievably good burgers and a great breakfast bun with eggs and bacon tucked between slices of a wholewheat bun. Ask for hot plates, they don't come automatically. A few tables outside if it's not too windy and a cozy intimate but sometimes noisy atmosphere inside. Black Jack on tap or take your own wine. Willing host Oli will go out of his way to ensure an enjoyable meal. And you get real napkins!

One of the great joys of travelling is uncovering a gem - often hidden and of sparkling quality. So it is with the Sweetest Thing which bursts into life from inauspicious beginnings. In fact you could blink and miss the petite entrance opposite the Simon’s Town shipyard. Enticed by the shopwindow of exquisite gateaux, the shop opens into a raised Seating area then reveals a secret courtyard.
The breakfast menu is just a treat with rosti to die for, superb eggs benedict and a host of other delectibles.
Service, presentation and ambiance all top class. Ripe for a franchise??

Went for a long walk on beach and disappointed not to find a bar/restaurant there and stumbled across this place on way back in the car. Very lively with excellent blues/jazz band playing with great craft beers and good food. Difficult to find with many local holiday owners there. Great atmosphere

It’s our 3rd visit to Fisherman’s and it has never disappointed. The vibe is relaxed and food fantastic...they were busy when we were there but it didn’t effect the service and ever so helpful waitress.Thank you for your encouraging feedback. We hope to see you back again soon.

A couple of years ago three friends sat around a table and decided to open a place they would like to call home. The Toad was born and several years later we are a place that many more call home! The Toad is a business that is focussed on great food, cold beer, excellent service and good times. If you are looking for a place to laugh with friends and family in a comfortable and relaxing environment you have just found it. The Toad in the Village is in Noordhoek and The Toad on the Road is in Lake side. Come and check out the best ribs, springbok guinness pie and pizzas in the Cape. As The Toad himself always says "We think you'll like it!"

Barracudas is a family restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere specialising in seafood. The restaurant, situated on the Fish Hoek beach front, boasts a fresh, contemporary and natural feel with a touch of coral and aqua. Maximum views have been created through floor to ceiling glass. The restaurant is fully licenced.
The grilled butterflied prawns were delicious and the service very friendly. The reason I'm giving only 4 stars is because the toilets are in a state that doesn't match the overall tenure of the restaurant.

Easy Dig can easily be associated with those coffee shops where one can enjoy both the light meals and some intimate conversation with family, a friend or business interview for that matter. There is also a kids party play area at the back. While the atmosphere is rustic, the Goemans Garden Shop at the entrance lends to its tranquility attracting butterflies at the right time of the season.
The menu boasts of the most delicious chocolate mousse cake amongst others and the coffee is to die for.............................
