Husum (North Frisian: Hüsem) is the capital of the Kreis (district) Nordfriesland in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The town was the birthplace of the novelist Theodor Storm, who coined the epithet "the grey town by the sea". It is also the home of the annual international piano festival Raritäten der Klaviermusik (Rarities of Piano Music) founded in 1986.

A special experience in Husum: dine on a large boat! Nice selection of fish / seafood, plus some standards meats and vegetarian selection. etc. Try the "Norditas", tapas-style little bites of regionally inspired seafood and veggie options. All foods we had were excellently prepared, tasty,...MoreDear Rainer, thanks for this wonderful review! We were very happy about the "fine dining" comment and look forward to a hopeful reunion on board... All greetings from your MS Nord crew!

Visited the restaurant 2 times during my lavest trip to Husum. Service, ambience and food Was very good. It is a good family restaurant, not too expensive giring good value for money. The only thing they could do different is to ban animals in the restaurant.

For the price we paid, it was worth every penny.
The starters wasn't homemade, tomato soup was like something out of a tin can, mixed with herbs and served with bread (which actually was very good!)
The main course was the best - originally profound and the presentation was intriguing. I loved - and was surprised by the good balance between chili and curry. Highly recommended. The course was chicken mixed with seafood.
The white wine was really good, as well as the amount served.
They could have gotten a full 5 stars from me, but the staff was not present and had NO interest in their guests - only each other, as they didn't smile any other place than to each other. So don't expect a sensational serving, as they make not notes when you order, which also resulted in getting the wrong starter for my girlfriend...
But if you can cope with that, it's absolutely worth a visit.

My husband and I were visiting relatives in Husum and enjoyed the late afternoon sun while having some delicious food. We enjoyed some chicken entrees and some wine with the meals. Friendly staff spoke good English, and there were a variety of salads and desserts.

After three days in this area and only finding fattening fried food we discovered Glúcklich am Meer. Tasty food and for us vegetarians some great choices. The restaurant has great atmosphere and all the girls were so friendly and helpful.

My wife and I have visited Dragseth's Gasthof countless times in the past and have always been very satisfied with both the food and the service. Last time we visited we were not very happy with neither. We noticed that both the kitchen crew and the waitress were new. The food is now rather average but what really upset us was to see the whole crew walk through the restaurant to smoke cigarettes outside several times during the evening while guests were still waiting. We went back about a month later to give it another chance but when the crew went outside to smoke even before we had ordered the meal we left. This is really a shame as this used to be such a nice place. We will continue to check out the restaurant when we are in Husum but they really need to get back to the old standards.

We found the place in TripAdvisor (where else). My wife ordered the spare ribs. She got a huge portion and liked every bite. I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel with cheese sauce; a combination which is very interesting. The food was excellent, the service efficient and friendly and the price was nice. Definitely a place to go if you like pub food.

The place is located in the very center of this nice small North German town. The forniture is nice, with some old cupboards, much wood paneling and so on, but some of the ornaments would need a good clean, plus some of the chairs lack the upholstery. They speak a little English. They serve good local food and beers, with a rich menu of meat (mainly pork) and fish.
Service is very slow. The place is airy but the smell when you live is intense. We have been there in winter with freezing temperatures, and we were seated close not far from the door, which was very unpleasant cause every time it opened we were reached by a very cold air stream.
Average prices.
Nice, but there are many restaurants in Husum and I think this is not the best.
