Restaurant de la Poste is what I term, Good & Fine homecooking. The meat from hunting season was of good quality and with fine sauces and presentation. Very tasty. The meat for the steak was average quality. Accompanying sauces were average also and not so tasty. Wine by glass selection is very limited. Ambiance is average Swiss cafe type restaurant with a nice large Terrace. Sun was not on the Terrace for lunch, however, we enjoyed our coffee in the warm sun. Price for hunting menu 85.-chf was well worth it. 45.-chf for steak 200 gr. quantity enough but meat was a bit tough. Its located next to the road so the ambiance is half mountain, half road. I think the best they offer is the hunting menu for quality, price and excellent sauces.

We have been to Grimentz twice, and both times many meals were eaten here by our party. The skiers in the group have snacks and lunch here everyday, appreciating the large portions, quick service, variety of options, and fabulous outdoor Terrace Seating. The non-skiers have also eaten here several times. You can buy a pedestrian ticket complete with the meal of the day, but it is better value to just buy a gondola ticket and choose something when you're there. The food is good (the burgers, carbonara pasta, and desserts have proven to be particularly good) but really you are coming here to sit on the sunny Terrace gazing into the beautiful alpine scenery for as long as you like. It is wonderful. There are many walking, snowshoeing, sledding, and cross-country trails that can be accessed near Bendolla, or, you can just take the gondola back down to the village when you have had enough terrace-time.

Reliably excellent food, beautifully presented with friendly service and first rate local wines to match. People don't just come here from Evolene, they come up from Sion, 15km away. It would comfortably hold its own in London. Our choice in the area for lunch, coffee, afternoon ice creams or dinner
Naturally it isn't cheap but it represents good value.

so after travelling to Spain, Italy, Germany and then to Switzerland. most travelers should know that apple to apple Switzerland will almost 40 percent more expensive than the other countries I mentioned (it will be the same if you compare a mcdonalds to McDonald or a café to café.
Having said that.the restaurant is a small village restaurant with very good staff. the food is yum, fresh and served in a rustic style (the rosti came in a hot iron pan in which it was baked)
should try a meal if you are there.

My husband and I are sitting in this restaurant having arrived 75 minutes ago and are still waiting for our food. We have drunk a bottle of wine and some water, eaten a few salad leaves and my husband some bread. Sadly I am gluten free and can't. We had a good lunch thankfully.
What is going on?.......
Tables beside us have eaten....
It is now 90 minutes since we put our order in and still no food....
We have nowhere else to go at this time ....
Please think carefully and ask questions before booking/ coming here....
I have never had an experience like it in the world!
We are coming back to Grimentz next year but will not be coming back here!

Voilà un endroit où quand on arrive avec une petite faim et en fin de service, on n'en est pas moins accueilli avec amabilité et efficacité.
De la salle à manger la vue sur la vallée est superbe et les boiseries itou.

we love to go there, they prepare croute au fromage as we like, with milk instead of wine and always prepare a special little plate for our daughter. we are vegetarians so the standard fries/nuggets dont do. portions are generous and food is tasty. sometimes there are some locals around singing songs, merrily after a day out on the pasture, it is a very warm atmosphere. they are always helpful to tourists that go to them for information on accommodation and activities even if their english is (very) poor. permanent good service

Florioz. Bar apres ski, Grimentz, Switzerland.
The man behind the bar at Florioz seemed to be loved by everyone. He had that winning way about him. A smile, a nod, handshake, embrace for everyone who came through the door . . . including two Kiwis with very little French.
Claudio Florey, the host and owner of Chez Florioz Bar Apres Ski in Grimentz, Switzerland, is an exceptionally friendly, charming fellow. The bar is right at the foot of the main gondola lift to the Grimentz ski area and it is THE place that skiers and snowboarders stop off at for a beer and a glass of wine and hearty food before heading home. The establishment is ultra-welcoming with wonderful warm, woody, Swiss-chalet style ambiance. Claudio works long hours in the winter ski season when the population of Grimentz grows from 500 to 5000. In the summer he is a wood craftsman and makes furniture. He actually built the beautiful restaurant/bar himself which explains its woodiness. We enjoyed an excellent local beer and white wine at the bar and had an amusing French-English conversation with Claudio about alpinism and his love of the Mountains. We did not eat there but have heard that the food is also excellent. Highly recommended.

We had 2 dinners at the Hotel Cristal restaurant and both were delicious. St-Valentin special 3 course was excellent and surprising. The second dinner I had the Salmon Teriyaki with leeks & noodles, the tastes went very well together, and I really enjoyed it.

Winter holiday and a return visit to this warm & cosy place. Friendly staff and good 'basic' mountain food. Having had spatzli last time we all enjoyed the cheese fondue, a generous and filling helping. Outside seats too cold at this time year though!
