Best known to most Germans as the locale of Georg-August University, Gottingen has about 130,000 residents, about a quarter of whom are students. Gänseliesel (Goose Girl) is the city's most famous resident, a 1901 fountain built in front of the 14th century Rathaus (Town Hall), which today houses the city's tourist office. But even Goose Girl can't escape the college students, who by tradition upon receiving their PhDs must climb and kiss her, making her "the most kissed girl in the world."

This was a drop in for a meal effort. It was a good choice. Food on offer catered for most tastes, was served efficiently by very friendly staff. Prices were reasonable for food and drinks. Unhurried atmosphere added to the charm of the venue. Offered inside and outside Seating. While not likely to visit Gottingen again, if we did we would head to the Nudelhaus for a good meal.

Bratwurst Glöckle is a small standing room, like a tube, for max 8 to 10 people with the best coal grilled German sausages in Göttingen. I know what I'm talking about, I live in this city since 50 years. Bratwurst Glöckle has it's own atmosphere, a liitle bit of 60th flair. In point of fact, the tradition goes back to 1920. The Bratwurst is made by an regional butchery with the same long tradition. It's always a good idea for me, to finish a Saturday's morning shopping tour in Göttingen with a Bratwurst (or two) at Bratwurst Glöckle.

The menu at Mazzoni looks like many others, but we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality. Our dishes were cooked to order and arrived quickly. Saltimbocca (15.80 Euro) was plentiful and fresh, the meat tender and the sauce delicious. Truffle ravioli with porcini sauce (9.20) really tasted of both ingredients and the pasta seemed to be freshly made. Portions were generous. The only sub-standard item was the dressing on a salad, which tasted like bottled salad cream.
The list of "vintage" wines has some interesting selections with a couple of cabernet blends for about 40 Euro.

We went to Fellini with our daughter who has lived in Gottingen for the last 3 months. She chose it based on recommendations from colleagues and TripAdvisor .
We were not disappointed . As vegetarians we had plenty of options and although our choices were fairly straightforward, they were delicious, and savoured to the hilt. The place was packed at 7.30 pm on a weekday evening so obviously it's enjoyed by locals.
Service was rather perfunctory, perhaps because there were large groups, but polite and prompt.

This restaurant has something for everyone, including kids and gluten free! We enjoyed our visit tremendously. Lovely staff who was friendly and attentive. Our youngest had fallen asleep in his bike seat, so we rolled him in and leaned the bike on a post and let him sleep through dinner. Our waited even brought him a blanket! Cannot recommend more highly.

It is absolutely amazing. The atmopshere, the service and, of course, the cakes. Go to the second floor and have a seat next to the window and enjoy a true moment of relax...

This restaurant advertises itself as being on Hannoversche Straße in Weende, but it is actually a short way up Steinweg on the North side. It has its own car park.
There is quite an extensive menu. The quality of the steak is excellent. The staff are friendly and pride themselves on their customer service. This includes opening hours until 11pm.
It is worthwhile undertaking a small detour from the centre of Göttingen to dine at this restaurant.

We visit this restaurant during a business trip to Gottingen Germany. We went here for dinner. The food was very good to excellent, the service was very good and the price for the food was great. The drinks and the atmosphere of the place are great too. We strongly recommend this rest. if you visit the town.
