Feira de Santana (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈfejɾɐ dʒi sɐ̃ˈtɐ̃nɐ]; Portuguese for "Saint Anne's Fair") is a city in Bahia, Brazil. It is the second-most populous city in the state, with a population of 612,000 according to IBGE's estimate. It is located 100 km northwest of Salvador, Bahia's capital city. After arriving in Feira de Santana lunch was my first meal and I'm glad I found Kilogrill. While the name doesn't imply anything fancy, the quality and variety of the food were surprisingly good - make that great. While I'm not really familiar with the local cuisine, my family recommended it. They have different cold and hot dishes, a meat and fish grill section, lasagnas, sweet potato and mixed fish dishes, salads and fruits. For dessert there are at least five choices, including pudim, tapioca pudding, something with coconut, figs etc. On your way out you'll find a separate coffee/tea bar, and an ice cream bar with all your favorite toppings (I'm not into this stuff but just so you know). Waiters serve drinks (including several kinds of freshly made juices such as guava, passion fruit and pineapple). Your tab is kept on a checkoff sheet that you present at the register at the end of your visit.
While the atmosphere is like that of a company cafeteria, by and large I have found this to be the best quality casual food in Feira, albeit with two tradeoffs: 1. the prices are almost comparable to NYC, which somehow doesn't seem to deter the locals though; and 2. you have to show up by 12:30pm, later than that and you risk finding a lot of options gone. While they made some extra food for our large group when we asked politely, Bahians eat lunch early and on time. In NYC I wouldn't even consider eating at a place like this, but in Brazil they are very clean in their food preparation, and the quality and freshness of the ingredients far surpasses anything Manhattan has to offer (even its own Brazilian restaurants). I'd highly recommended Kilogrill to get acquainted with the local fare.

Cerveja é gelada no ponto. Caipirinha também é boa.
Atenção para os dias em que há promoção de pratos e drinks dobrados. Fui numa quinta-feira para Happy hour e encontrei a promoção.

The place was fairly quiet, and the food was great. Excellent location. They were very accommodating (we were a group of eight).

We had a delicious lunch in Feira de Santana in this restaurant. The salad buffet is outstanding with several options of salads and hot entrees. One has an option to only eat from the buffet or also have the meat. Service is great and so is the food.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Delicious sea food and good service. We had the grilled salmon with capers sauce, I seldom had a salmon steak in that quality.
Even though we were the only guests that night which was strange because the restaurant definitely deserves more people. If you are in FDS go there!

This is a very simple restaurant, looks like they started in their garage.
However, in Feira it is my favourite
the real local "sertao" food, the food of the dry and hot northeastern Wilderness.
Speciality "carne de sol" sun dried beef or goat meat. "Feijao Tropeiro", beans mixed with some species and cassava flour, "Aipim Frito" great fried cassava, served as side dish to the fantastic barbecued goat ribs and goat liver.
