Recommended by a vintner on the Rue de Corniche, we all enjoyed our dinner and local wine. The restaurant is on the "main" road, and we sat outside to enjoy the weather ... the location is nothing special. 5 of us tried different selections, and we each thought we had ordered the best entree:) Having just arrived from Spain, we found the prices a bit expensive, but, as many travelers note, Switzerland is expensive.

The Vieux-Chalet is a restaurant split into 2 type of restaurants: A Alp-chic Steakhouse specialized in wood-fire grill or barbecue on the Terrace, and "The Annexe", a brasserie type, traditional type of cuisine. The first offers a fixed menu card based on meats such as Prime Rib, Lamb chops, Chateaubriand and the second a selection of essential food of the Swiss Mountains as well as a Burger and other simple things. This old Chalet offers a woodden decor for warm and friendly atmosphere between tradition and modernity. Composed of 3 rooms or "corners", the restaurant can accommodate groups, parties up to 130 people or 200 in combination with the hotel Beau-Sejour. The outdoor Terrace offers a panoramic breathtaking view of the majestic Dents-du-Midi.
Had heard good reviews, but thought the food was only OK principally because of the exorbitant cost. Wine was twice the price we saw anywhere else in Champery (including the restaurants on the slopes).

Skin in and be comfortable. It is a nice place in Champery, during high season and on weekends you should have a reservation.
The food is good, daily specials are available as well as the usual favorites in the Valais, as there are crute, fondue and the works. Nice salads, too.
Service is very cordial and swift.

We dined there twice over the New Year holidays. Myself, my boyfriend, and our nine-month-old baby. While me&hubby really enjoyed the food quality and service, the baby was having a ball communicating with the friendliest possible staff, including the owner, as well as other customers. The decor of the place is quite something, with details to be noticed and discovered at every visit. Unique atmosphere is largely due to the place's staff, who are all very intelligent, friendly and have very good taste for interior design, music, and food&wine. We usually like to eat out at different places every time, but to this one we couldn't help returning )))

This restaurant serves very good food. There is a selection of meat and fish dishes and they also make delicious risottos and some other Italian pasta dishes. There is a Terrace which is very pleasant. The service, however, although friendly was not very professional.

This is a classy mountain restaurant that we had never eaten at. We chose the Duo d’agneau from the plat du jour menu. The lamb was tough, poorly trimmed, over-cooked and not worth the CHF35 per portion for piste-side dining fare. Nice veg and delicious gravy. The potatoes, however, were dry and over cooked. These were Courcheval prices but nowhere near the standard I am sad to report. Double the cost of all other competitor eateries and not as good cooking was our judgement. Maybe we had a bad day. We will try again but not for a while.

Restaurants on the slopes and mountain peaks can be drab affairs. Not this one (this is about the second floor restaurant with the Terrasse and great views, not the bistro downstairs). The food is excellent quality with a changing 'Plat du jour' every day. We went there for lunch on several subsequent days simply ordering the Plat du jour without even checking what it was. Service is also very good and efficient despite this being quite a big place. Highly recommended even if you are not skiing.

When you look at the Lindaret webcam everyday before heading on your ski trip, to sit at the restaurant you have seen the snow fall around is fantastic. We had a glorious sunny day and were able to text friends back home to see us (and be jealous). The food was quickly delivered -- a great Tartiflette, a salad gourmand with a fantastic selection of cold cuts through to soup. It is not cheap (but what is up the mountain) but great service, great food in a great location. It gets busy o be early. First restaurant on the right as you ski in.
