This monument can be found on the pedestrian boulevard Efremova, amongst many souvenir stalls, quite near the Beer museum. It depicts two characters from the beloved satirical novel Twelve Chairs. There's only one chair present in this one, you can sit down and take a picture. Cute monument that attracts much attention from passers-by.

Impressive statue with stairs leading up to it, offering views of the surrounding area from a bit higher perspective. Can be easily reached from city centre through a pedestrian bridge.

The English translations are surprisingly on point, and the staff are really keen if you're obviously foreign. It's a tractor museum, so if you're not interested in tractors, don't bother, but if you have even a passing interest this place is well worth a visit. The exposition on the history of the tractor is mainly in Russian, but it's fairly simple so if you've got any Russian you'll manage fine. The main event is the hall of tractors, where you can sit behind the wheel of a Stalinets, a Vladmirets, or even a Porsche. Definitely the nicest, best laid out and best described museum in Chuvashia.

Memorial Park always had a special place in my heart. An everlasting flame in honour of those who fought in WW2 reminds me about courage, instinct to survive, kindness and strong will that our people never loose. Even today, newly married couples come here on their wedding day to pay respects. Glorious views of the city and overlooking Volga river attract people on their visit to Cheboksary.

Really this museum deserves a central3 but it has to be seen if you visit the city so I gave it a 4, but they could give more detail. There are 3 main halls which very smoothly show the history of the area from ancient times to the modern day. I would have liked information about the Chuvash culture, but perhaps there's another museum for that.
There's a good poster about ancient animals, some ancient antlers and a number of costumes. Definitely worth visiting, especially if you speak Russian as it's well labelled. 70r entry.

I strongly urge you to visit this gorgeous museum, if for the art-nouveau building only. The premises are a gem in themselves, containing a lovely metal staircase, couple of tiled hearths, decorated ceilings and other art-nouveau decoration. The selection of art at hand is decent, there's a stray Rembrandt, Aivazovskiy, lots of pictures by local artists, some sketches as well. The entrance fee is dirt-cheap, under 100 rubles per person if I remember correctly and so much worth it.
On the other hand, this building desperately needs reconstruction and restoration work - walls are cracked, parquet creaks, the whole building emanates a bit of a stale feeling, to which the old ladies dressed in janitor's attire contribute. I was leaving the museum with mixed feeling, but as I've said, it's worth visiting if for the lovely house only.
