Bali is a living postcard, an Indonesian paradise that feels like a fantasy. Soak up the sun on a stretch of fine white sand, or commune with the tropical creatures as you dive along coral ridges or the colorful wreck of a WWII war ship. On shore, the lush jungle shelters stone temples and mischievous monkeys. The “artistic capital” of Ubud is the perfect place to see a cultural dance performance, take a batik or silver-smithing workshop, or invigorate your mind and body in a yoga class.

Expectations were quite high after Reading the reviews, however we were disappointed.
As always I try to give objective input.
I must admit that we went there on a rainy evening so that may have influences the experience negatively, however here are the facts.
From the reception you have to walk 5-10 minutes down a long and very dark path. We were offered an umbrella (but hat one leaked so we were soaking wet when we arrived at the restaurant). The path itself was more like a river so our leather shoes were ruined when we arrived at the restaurant. We also crossed a rat on the way down. So.... this was not what I would call a good start.
We were seated in a room that lacked any nice decoration. I suppose when you can sit on the Terrace it is much nicer of cours but unfortunately could not experience this. The staff had to walk through the rain with our dishes.
It took them a very long time to prepare and bring the cocktails.
They were very attentive and brought us a towel.
The food was average, not better than what you would eat in any ordinary Thai restaurant. Portions were rather small.
Prices: 150 000 for a Cosmopolitan, 200 000 for a glass of wine. A bottle of water 90 000 Pad Thai 145 000 just to give some examples.
I have been in some neighbouring restaurants like 'swept away' that were much better.
All in all I would not go back and don't recommend this restaurant.

All meals were of a very high standard, they were freshly prepared from local ingredients, they were very tasty and reasonably priced. The Staff were so friendly and lovely. A tropical breeze and the soothing sound of water set the mood at our signature bamboo restaurant. Kubu also offers an intimate space with having 9 private cocoons overlooking the Ayung river for you to enjoy fine Mediterranean-European cuisine in the option of A-la-carte or degustation menus. Further, an extensive list of European wines is accompanied for selection as well.
We dined at Kubu twice whilst staying at Mandapa, in a cocoon for 4, and both times were wonderful. Kubu has a gorgeous setting, blended with delicious food and super service. The cocoon's were intimate and private. We had the degustation menu which was superb. I don't eat seafood and so they switched some dishes for me with no problems. The Parmasan Risotto was really delicious in particular, as was the beef. A great place for a special dinner.

We are back in Bali for a month this year as we have done previously over the last three years. Our trip to Lovina enabled us to have dinner at the Secret Garden Restaurant. This is something my wife and I have been looking forward to based upon an experience last year. I am extremely pleased to report that the restaurant is as good as ever, beautifully prepared food served by courteous and engaging people.
I am not surprised this restaurant enjoys such great recommendations from other diners, could not imagine a visit to Lovina that did not include a dinner at this restaurant. All the dishes can be thoroughly recommended, without exception.
Great restaurant experience not to be missed, try the Chilli Prawns or fish in banana leaf with Bali spices.

Inspired by Nuri’s simple beginnings as a roadside warung in Ubud, the new restaurant brings a taste of Bali, Nuri’s iconic combination of delicious ribs and martinis to a whole new locale. The new restaurant draws on the original, with a smoking outdoor grill and a rustic vibe but with seats for 90, even more carnivores can devour Nuri’s generous rib slabs marinated in the top secret sauce.
Had the best time eating pork ribs and satay pork at Naughty Nuri’s today. Suggestion: the ribs were good, but the satay pork was spectacular! Great martinis and margaritas!!! Maya and Eka provided great shake, shake, shake martini/ margarita dance and superb service!

Informal outdoor eatery, live cooking, serving Mexican style wraps (tacos, burritos, fajitas, quesadillas, carnitas), pizzas, tostadas, and nachos. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available. Catering private parties.
We took a scooter and drove 20 min from our hotel. Worth it because the food was delicious, awesome sauces and great street kitchen atmosphere. The owner was supersweet and loved how they prepared all the food right in front of us with real fresh ingredients. We hd crispy wraps.

The service at Pepito's was first class. Certainly the tastiest Beef Rendang I've had in Bali. Delicious soup of the day. Lovely atmosphere, often with a live band performing. I highly recommend Pepito's.
