Bad Liebenzell is a spa town in the Nagold River valley, the northern part of the Black Forest. It was first mentioned in 1090 and is the heart of the Liebenzeller Mission (a religious movement).

Great atmosphere in the downtown of Bad Liebenzell, an old Black Forest village known for its warm baths (newly renovated). Bei has good pizzas and great salads as well as some great classic pasta dishes. Remember to get the ice cream, it is handmade on the premises and during the summer they have a shop across from the Rathaus as well as outdoor Seating at the restaurant.

My first visit in 1952 with my school class has inspired my love for this place. I still come here every couple of years for over 60 years now. Heavy hand tp hand combat partisan fighting here during the final days of WW 2. Shady walk along a gurgling creek, the Monbach. Listen to the birds and hums of insects and butterflies. No uphill, leisurely stroll with plenty of benches to rest along the way. Stop at Bas Liebenzell afterwards an enjoy a concert in the park or coffee under the trees. Breathe in the fresh Black Forest air. Enjoy a round of golf at the nearby country club. An hours car ride to Baden Baden, Casinos etc a place frequented by the former Shah of Persia and his first wife, Soraya, and Freudenstadt, great skiing in winter, hiking in summer etc. 2hours from Strassburg and the Alsace Lorraine region.

We make a point of visiting this burg / schloss when we are in the Black Forest area. It was worth visiting even from Stuttgart and now our relatives have moved to live in Bad Liebenzell it is even better. I believe the establishment has different management to when we last came and what was quite good is now excellent. There is a good wine list and very tempting cakes and tortes. There is an outside Terrace with stunning views - but more suitable for Summer. Inside the Restaurant / bar is warm and welcoming; the Staff knew their jobs well and appeared to enjoy their tasks.
There are a lot of steps inside and out and the structure is high up along a steep and winding road. I think unless you are up for it, walking from Bad Liebenzell would be quite a step; by car is ideal and there is some parking on the site.

The last time we ate here the name, the management and the menu were rather different, being redolent then of Baden-Wurtemberg. Things have changed.
It would be easy to miss this establishment - being on a busy road with no easy parking - and that would be a pity.
The waitress (whom we understand is part of the new management) and the Chef (the other part) try very hard to make this a good dining experience. When we were there it was by no means crowded but the service seemed disjointed. Though the Pasta and the Fish dishes were quite enjoyable (who comes to this part of Germany to eat Pizza?); the drink with a natural emphasis on Italian was rather less so.
The Menu has many, many dishes, a treat for lovers of Italian food. However with ninety or so dishes, there is more apparent width than depth.
For those who need to be aware of such things the Restaurant lists the 14 icons used to identify "hauptalergene" ingredients and a further 7 numbers indicating additives and preservatives.
We dined early evening Friday 16 October

Bad Liebenzell, Baden-Wurttemberg,
Whenever we visit the Blackforest region in Germany, a visit to Bad Liebenzell is a “must” and in particular to the Café, Schweigert, across from the Kurhaus, with its delicious cakes and baked items, for us, this is a special treat since their cakes are in our opinion the finest anywhere. As we stayed this time for 5 days in Bad Liebenzell, we enjoyed their lunch features as well as they have a very good variety of excellent meals. What else is so nice, is their location, comfortable siting in- and outside as well. Will we come back? Yes, most definitely.

Indian recipes: a place to enjoy real north indian cuisine. We try are best to live upto your expecations!
I am delighted that this little Indian Restaurant in the heart of Bad Liebenzell is doing well. Last year when we visited week had a great meal. We have just returned and the meal was if anything better..with the addition of a new stone bake bread oven the Naan was something special, the Masala just to our liking and the friendliness and attentive service just great. If in the area make a point of going but book as they are getting busy.

Cakes here are to die for, all home made. We had coffee and cake out in the Sunshine down by the rivers edge. Very enjoyable and relaxing stop after walking through the park.
