Definitely catered towards tourists, but the square is still quite nice. There are Fountains for the kids to play in on warmer days. There are numerous specialty shops in addition to overpriced and underserved restaurants as well as tourist shops. If you are in the area, it is worth a visit.

We walked through this fabulous viewing platform. it was a clear day and around 9.30 am. Fabulous views of the forest and valley. could see for miles. Amazing bird song. we were the only people there at first.

This is a great place to visit - free to enter, 3 euro to park. It is a trail that you follow through the Black Forest - barefoot! You leave your shoes in a locker (1 euro returnable) and then wander through the forest - in your bare feet. Over gravel, pebbles, water, thick mud and other things that I am not going to tell you about or it will spoil it. Really good fun, envigorating and lovely scenery. Great for all ages

Visited the park with young children and was worth a lot. We saw several bears which were saved from places where they were mistreated or abandoned for being "old". Very nice initiative and a enthousisted team taking care of the bears and wolves helping them to have a better life than before. The whole park is just perfectly organised, not too long to walk around to keep the interest of children. Several information tabs explaining the know-abouts plus a cafeteria and playground.
Worth a visit!
On weekends and holidays (like we did) the parking can become crowded with no spots to park, so come early before others wake up!

We had a good time there with the kids. In the middle of the black forest very close to Lossburg. Great and charming bar the one next to the small lake.

We all know instinctively that churches are designed and built either on a rectangular or a cross-shaped pattern. Except that this one isn't - it was built with 2 almost identical naves at right angles to each other, with the altar at the intersection point. Somebody thought that there should be separate Seating areas for men and women, and this l-shaped design was the result.
What made our visit much more poignant was to read about the war-time destruction and subsequent re-building and restoration of the church. Worth pausing a moment and offering a few words to whatever deity you choose.

just to start off by saying that the point where there place is indicated is wrong. Its a 3 to 4 mile hike (not too easy) to get there. The marked point is just where the trail kind of starts. It came as a surprise to us as we were not prepared, but we went anyway and it was worth the walk!! Awesome experience!!
you have to be fit and willing though for the walk.
Tip: instead of the trail(which is cool), take the road which is direct and not all too hard to walk.

Outdoor heated, indoor slide, large pool with low diving stands. Separate pool with three heights diving boards, Sauna and steam room. The elite is the spa section - all different pools at different temperatures with minerals - very modern area.
Cafe, beer with good food.
29 euro for family of four but worth ever penny for 3.5hr stay.
Place is spotless!
No whistle blows from life guards unlike the UK. Kids allowed in steam rooms no problem.
Great day!
