The taste experiences at restaurant Schwarzwaldstube have made Hotel Traube Tonbach one of Europe's best places when it comes to cooking. Head chef Torsten Michel is a master of flavours, his compositions create an incredibly light and perfect cuisine – delicate, intense, full-flavoured and delicious at the same time. Sommelier Stéphane Gass pairs each course with a subtle wine from Traube's outstanding cellar.
if you like your 3 star Michelin restaurants to provide traditional style food , this restaurant works well. It doesn't have the excitement in the food that others provide, but everything is prepared and presented at the highest quality. Its much more casual and relaxed than many places and perhaps risks not feeling extra special.

What an experience..
We went to the Bareiss for lunch and have chosen the lunch menu. It was our first 3 Star Restaurant experience and we can truely recommend - it is worth the money. Each course is a highlight for all senses - visually and taste wise. We spend about 3hours eating and enjoying the atmosphere.

We had originally wanted to dine at the Hotel Falken but turned up without a reservation and could not get in (there was 12 of us) but the lady was very helpful and took us round to a near adjoining restaurant which we had initially dismissed. The staff inside were very helpful and accomadated the children in a small cubicle and us scattered round a quaint triple tiered set of tables. The atmosphere was brilliant and the staff were attentive and very helpful. The food selection was limited mainly to flat bread and salads but these were massive portions and the different topped flatbreads you got were a wide selection. The salads were massive as well. I am guessing they don't see many children but still had a child's menu that the staff were happy to translate for our children. A delightful unplanned stay, would recommend whole heartedly.

The facade is not very promising, next to a sports accommodation, but the Terrace is actually quite nice. Friendly owner. Extremely fast service and huge portions. We ate within 40 minutes (drinks, starters, mains and complementary desserts) and were stuffed like an ox. Some may not find the speed with which courses are served appealing, so only go here if you're looking for a quick and affordable dinner.

Try the amuse-bouche menu. It´s a lovely experience with a lot of extraordinary tastes (but you will have to spend some money for it).
The sympathic sommelier will suggest a really good accompanying wine. The wine is fairly priced.

There is only a listing for the hotel and would like one for the restaurant as well.
We ate in this restaurant one evening and were happy with our experience. The staff was very warm and friendly, the interior was very nicely decorated as is the outside. The food was excellent and the portions were huge. One of us had the rouladen, it was great. One of the kids had the gulash and it was also excellent. Kids menu was provided and there was plenty of parking on the street in front.
I would definitely eat here again when in Baiersbronn.

The Sattelei is in the middle of the wood from the Black Forest and a must to stop over, very cost inside and the food is great. No matter if you want an easy meal or a peace of cake or just a drink , you should have been here at least once.

Came here yesterday via the free Electro bus. When staying you receive a pass from your hotel so all public buses and trains are free. Had a fabulous Goulash soup. Can’t rave enough. Beautiful views down the mountain. Bewarned though the chairlift only operates on weekends.

"Where the valley ends and holiday" - there is the Hotel Forest House grouse. At the very end of the swelling fresh Langenba Che in Baiersbronn in the Black Forest. Where once only woodcutters, carters, rafters and some individual holidaymakers einkehrten, the Wellness Hotel Forest House grouse was born. It offers a hospitality that has become a tradition with us since 1821. With Wellness & Beauty, Nordic walking, guided hikes. With bathing and sauna world. We look forward to seeing you at our Wellness Hotel Forest House grouse in the Black Forest.
This restaurant has yet to disappoint. Seasonal dishes, beautifully prepared and tastefully served. The only minor complaints (which have nothing to do with the food) are that the dining room we were seated in (as guests staying at the hotel) was far too hot to be able to enjoy the food and wine and that the different courses were served far too quickly, one after another - at one point the waitress removed my friend's salad plate while she was still chewing and put her main course down in the same movement. We would have liked a little more time between courses to savour each one and look forward to the next.
