A perfect place to witness tarsiers.. a sanctuary/ safe haven for these unique indigenous creatures. Staff were knowledgeable about the primate and its behaviours e.g. territorial tendencies. Couldnt get an upclose shot. There is a shop for souvenirs nearby and some cool refreshments during viewing.

Virgin Island

Reachable only by boat, and underwater most of the time, this hidden gem of beach is a fun stopover when on a boating trip. There is not much to do but it is unique and the sometimes local merchants that will cut up and cook the fresh caught shell fish and sea urchins are worth a try.

The cave is located on the Northern side of Panglao island. There is a 50 peso entrance fee to go in and it comes with a guide. After heading down the rocky stairs you end up in a cavern filled with water. You're able to go and have a swim in the fresh waters of the cave.
The roof is covered with stalactites and quite rocky. There are life vests available for those that want it.
We didn't swim, we just headed down to have a look. It was really humid inside, more so than outside. An interesting stop before heading to the airport.

Alona Beach

Reviewed By globalman56 - San Diego

I stayed here for 3 days and it was a long 3 days. First, the beach itself is very narrow, about 3 meters wide depending on the tide, and not clean. There were over 200 boats sitting near the shoreline picking up and dropping off tour groups, spilling diesel fuel and who knows what into the water. Many of the boats were obviously well past their prime. There is no way I would swim in that water (and I really didn't see anyone swimming). The boardwalk is crumbling and difficult to walk on at night. Mostly just restaurants and bars, some with music blaring. I was told they brought out tables and served nice buffet dinners on the beach but I didn't see any of that - not sure where they could put the tables. I think at one time Alona might have been ok, but not now.
Bohol island is nice - we had a driver take around the island. I would go back to Bohol but stay far from Alona.

Panglao Beach

Reviewed By MorJon - Norway

I like Panglao Island and Bohol. But be aware that you will arrive a fairly commercialized and crowded plance. It was better 8 years ago but still worh visiting but still you have all you need, differente bars to have a drink, restaurants and hotels of difference prices classes and above all - Bohol is a big island with a lot to offer for those who cant stand just streching out on the beach. I recommend to take out cash in Tagbiliran before you go to Panglao because some times the ATM machines are out of order....

Isola di Francesco

Reviewed By Loren P - Manila, Manila, Philippines

Isola di Francesco is different from what they call the "VIrgin Island". The so-called Virgin Island is a tourist trap. Go at your own risk. A reputable tour guide would know and not bring you there, Instead, they will bring you to this beautiful island.
This is place of meditation and reflection owned by the Philippine Centre of St. Pio of Pietrelcina. The beautiful sandbar is open to the public with free boat shuttle service going to and back from the island for those who wish to pay tribute or simply just want to visit the place. You can stay as long as you want. We swam in the vast sandbar shoreline- it was a wonderful way to end our island tour. It was my first time to see a sandbar and I was so happy to be here. I would surely go back on my next trip to Bohol.

Doljo Beach

Reviewed By Desiree S

I stayed in The Bellevue Resort a 5 star resort hotel with a private beach. The beach offers magnificent sunrise and sunset view. Bellevue is the only resort that has a well maintained beach. The other resorts are much cheaper but poorly maintained. Very family friendly location, no parties and huge crowds.
