Pros...
Good diving. Sharks, rays, eels, wall, healthy coral
Decent, not great, rental gear
Friendly staff
Good sized boat
Clean shop
Cons
Communication is lacking... Quick responses to book but once at the shop there was not much direction. Got a boat briefing but no dive briefing.
Although there were plenty of snacks, there was one long Sandwich for everyone to share and there wasn't enough for everyone.
No fresh water on the boat for drinking or rinsing
The rental gear, while decent, needs to be replaced. The wetsuits are ripping, the BCDs are fraying and the regs were a bit rough.
Because it is so far away, two hrs, from San Juan, this is a dive shop best suited for those staying in the area.
I would recommend Island Scuba for experienced divers

The Guánica State Forest & Bioshpere Reserve (Bosque Estatal de Guánica, in Spanish) is an great example of a dry forest, as compared to the rain Forests found elsewhere on the island. Covering almost 1,000 acres, it has been designated as a United Nations International Biosphere Reserve. The forest offers many well-maintained trails and is a bird-watcher’s paradise.
We visited Guanica's Dry Forest last February. We arrive by afternoon and we're only able to walk one trail, which I don't remember the name. February is one of the coldest months in PR, yet in this forest it was very hot, as usual. We were with our 5yo and 3 month old baby. The trail is very pretty and easy to follow, you pretty much do a 360 round. You park at the visitors centers which is a very small house with a guard that gives you a map of the forest. There are many other trails far from the visitor center, but those take more time. We will definitely come back with more time. Also, right next tot he visitor center there are bunch of wooden tables where I was able to nurse my baby. There are bathrooms too, by better bring your own toilet paper or chubs.

Recently went to Tamarindo Beach and found some major improvements to the area. Boardwalks installed for getting from the parking area to the beach are a great addition. The beach itself is very large (long), with beautiful blue water and gentle waves. One of the best Beaches in Puerto Rico.

We found Pino's via TripAdvisor and looked it up on Facebook. We spent one night at the Copamarina Resort in Guanica and went straight to Pino's after we checked out. It was about a 20-minute drive and definitely required Google Maps to get there. Like everything in PR, Pino's is tucked away and you actually want to turn left and continue around to the right to park close to the water. We got there a little before noon and the guys were just setting up. My boyfriend and I rented jet skis with my 15-year-old son riding with me. You can get them for $55/half hour but the riding area is pretty limited. TIP: pay $5 more per jet ski and you get a guided tour that travels much further out. Our guide took us out, into the rougher waters, and into a cove where it was calmer. As a first-time rider, it took me a bit to get used to controlling the jet ski and maintaining speed, but after a couple minutes I had it. In upstate NY it's hard to find a place to rent a jet ski so this was a great opportunity at a decent price. If you go, know that you must be 25 to drive a jet ski and they held our drivers licenses during the ride. And prepare to get WET and SUNBURNED. Definitely wear some shorts and at least a t-shirt. Sunscreen and sunglasses are a MUST. They provide the life vests.
If you have more time or younger children, go with the boat rides or paddle boats. My teenager did pretty well holding on but younger kids will struggle with the jet skis.
We are definitely going back when we visit PR again. Pino's was the highlight of our trip!

There aren't many beach options near Guanica, PR. We found this small beach just off of PR-333. It is not a great swimming beach because there are a lot of rocks and rough water, but there is a little area where you can go in to get refreshed. My adventurous husband jumped off of some of the rocks, but he is a strong swimmer and I do not recommend it. It's not good for snorkeling as the water is rough and not very clear. Also, there are warning signs for a dangerous shore breaks, so be careful if you go in the water. However, if you're looking for a small, secluded beach to get some sun and have a little water time. It's a great place. There are much larger public Beaches nearby if this isn't your thing. There are no bathroom facilities, food stands, or lifeguards and limited cell service and shade, so come prepared. There are a few little Beaches right in a row on PR-333, we liked this the best but there are others. You can find Atolladora Beach near these coordinates 17.956661,-66.854298.

Difficult to find. Borders Playa Santa. Found it via a detailed map and with Maps with Me app. Had to ask someone in town/area of Guanica and then find the almost handwritten signs. But, it is a public beach and open. The day we went the gate to the parking lot was closed but we parked on the deadend street and entered through a hole in the fence there. No one cared. We saw one or two other people. We snorkeled in the mangroves. Water is quite shallow. did not see amazing fish but it was an adventure!

My wife and I and her brother and sister-in-law all visited Puerto Rico in October. We stayed in Guanica the beginning of our vacation and did quite a bit of sightseeing.
One of the places we passed was the Guanica Light on our way to the San Jacinto Club/Restaurant where we took a ferry to Guilligan's Island. The lighthouse is abandoned and pretty rundown but is an excellent backdrop for photos. The road it is on is pretty narrow and winds along the coast so the ocean views are also really nice.
The day we stopped I took a few photos of the Light. Afterwards we stopped a little further down the road right along the bay and were barely lucky enough to take some photos of ourselves as a cloud/storm just blew onto shore and the sky just opened up....
While there is not much left of the Guanica Light it is still worth a photo op if you are passing by........

Thank you!
This was my wife idea and it was the best. Took the one hour tour. We were welcome and immediately felt confident between friends.
The tour was beautiful and worth it. They took good care of us. They showed the corals, the mangles and the amazing Bahia of Guanica.
They are located in a tent right at the beach next to the Copamarina hotel.
