This cultural theme park is divided into three sections: shopping in the Festival village, dining in the Golden Kinnaree Buffet Restaurant and Vegas-style entertainment in the Palace of the Elephants.
Except main shop nothing special is there.
Pros
Main Show is very grand and nice but we have already seen few shows similar to that so nothing was special for us.
All the shops and elephant ride was over priced according to me.
They recommend to come around 5.30 where as main show timing is after 9pm that means you have to spend more then 3 hours in the shops or in restaurants which is really really boring (everyone in our family was feeling sleepy and bored)
I will not recommend this place on the high charges of 1800 baht per person
Still you want to visit thn my suggestion is to go there by 7pm

There’s 1 statue dedicated to the Tsunami victims and survivors.
I wouldn’t go here just to purely visit the statue otherwise you might feel disappointed as not a great description or information readily available.
Usually there is some other activity happening at the same site. We went during Children’s Day where there were markets, games, activities, food and elephants.

This is not ethical!
Elephants are not meant to be ridden or chained!
SAD
There are other sanctuaries which treat elephants with respect and love and care such as Phuket Elephant Sanctuary and Elephant Jungle Sanctuary where there are no bullhooks, no saddles and no enclosures!
Please let elephants roam free ❤️

Kamala Muay Thai Gym is a locally owned community Gym. The gym provides Muay Thai training and classes for local students and tourists of all levels. Classes are 1 on 1 with a qualified instructor, however group fitness classes can be arrange for those that wish to train as a group with one trainer. The gym is a new addition to the Kamala area and welcomes beginners to the sport.
We looked all over the island for a good training school for our daughter (9 Years old).
After we visited all the well named but touristic gyms we ended up by Jazz Boxing club in Kamala. From the first second our daughter was comfortable with Jazz (head trainer), and they bonded immediately. Her skills and technique grew big de day and Jazz had a lot of patience.
Jazz's style is what you can describe as old school or authentic, here you can learn the real muay thai. After seeing him fight in Patong's boxing, where he dominated the fight en showed the audience how Muay Thai is done our daughter wanted nothing else but train with the sensei.
Our daughter learned so much, and more important had a great time here in jazz's boxing club.
Thanks Jazz for the great experience.

We have driven or walked past this beautiful local temple so many times with only a cursory glance. My curiosity got the better of me this morning and I decided to explore. It's located at the southern end of Rim Hat Road, just as you cross the bridge the entry will be on your left opposite the beach Promenade.
The original complex was badly damaged by the tsunami in 2004 when floodwater reached roof height. Much of the temple was destroyed. In 2005 everything was largely restored, the temple grounds received a special makeover from the Australian TV show, Backyard Blitz, and new rooms were built for the monks. It is regarded locally as quite a feat and appreciated as one of the charitable acts that helped Kamala recover from the devestation. The temple is compact, and while architecturally attractive, it is not grandiose as are many of Thailand's temples. It was raining this morning, there was not much activity in the complex courtyard, but the worshippers were already in attendance reciting prayers and receiving blessings from the monks. I was acknowledged with a slight incline of the head when indicating that I wished to take some photos. There is not much in English language on display, I am assuming that the ceiling and wall murals are the originals that were restored, similarly the statues of the Buddha. Serene and peaceful inside, and outside a small plaque acknowledges the Australian contribution to the restoration. Glad that I visited.
