Whenever I visit Chambery with people from out of town, I like to show them this location. The view over the Mountains and the lake are amazing. And the paragliders taking of from this mountain and circling around make it even more special. We were there during the last heat wave. At that time it is even more enjoyable up on the mountain where it is a few degrees cooler.

Great place to spend a week or so. We only had a short amount of time so didn't manage to get around all of the lake.
We did get to have a swim which is invigorating, had planned to take a boat trip but that will have to wait until next time, but did manage to visit a few of the local beauty spots and challenging hill climbs.
We will return as there's lots more to do.

Everything in this casino is electronic gaming style - not my cup of tea at all. We went to see the fabulous mosaic ceilings - stunning and definitely worth viewing.

Entry was 6 euro for adults and that gave access to a beach and surrounding green areas with some trees for shade. The views of the surrounding Mountains are spectacular. The beach by the lake is sandy and the water safe for all ages. Lifeguards were present. The bar had good service but the rest of the facilities are basic.

Fascinating to see the Roman Arch in the middle of the town, so close to the present centre of life, with other Roman remains close by.
