I've had pizzas everywhere. I tried one in Little Italy in New York City, and I had some in south Philly. I even tried pizza in Milan and Naples. The pizza offered at La Caravelle in Aix-les-Bains surpasses all of them. First the salt (and this is my "terror" condiment) is well balanced here between the cheese and the dough. The homemade tomato sauce added that little sweet and sour taste, but did not overpower the tasty mozarella mixed with some kind of rebluchon that gave it that exceptional flavor, especially if you asked them to add fresh seasonal mushrooms. I will stop there and move on to their pasta. Danie ordered gnocchi aux quatre fromages accompanied by a green salad, and she enjoyed it tremendously a l'Americaine, "as they do in America." I tried one bite and agreed with her. A couple next to us ordered "the flambee" consisting of a huge piece of beef flamed in whisky. The restaurant is situated across the street from the train terminal and thus prides itself more on the quality of their food than the location, service, or atmosphere. I am going back tomorrow to order a Savoyarde Forrestiere fondue and I don't care if my waitress has a bad hair day.

We had limited time for lunch but so glad we went.We were visiting at lunch time on Christmas Eve and were able to get in without a reservation.Explained we had limited time and the staff were marvellous. The surroundings are modern, bistro style and not intimidating.Being Christmas Eve there was no a la carte available but we were more than happy with the three course market menu at€26 .Stuffed smoked salmon was followed by duck breast on a bed of cabbage.Dessert was a chocolate tart and hibiscus ice cream .The standard of cooking, presentation and service couldn't be faulted. Our waitress spoke a little English and was very attentive.

Popped in for a quick lunch. I took the set menu which was flawlessly presented. First course smoked salmon, second salmon with black rice and a great sauce. Only problem was that I entered at 12:50, only at 13:15 they took my order and I had to rush out to be at the train station at 14:00. For lunch they need to speed things up. My waitress was very apologetic and even gave me coffee on the house.

We were 4 adults and two children and we all ate very well. The children's menu was a delicious cheeseburger and frites with ice cream for desert, the hamburgers are all home made and were delicious, so we're the fajitas and the piece du Boucher. The husband and Wife team were extremely nice and friendly too. I would recommend this place to families especially. In fact to anyone who likes homemade food that actually tastes of something!

We tried here after Reading the reviews. I think we may have chosen the wrong dishes and looking around at other diners nearly all had gone for some version of fondue. We both started with salads and then had steak frittes. Both courses were adequate but nothing I couldn't make easily for myself at home. The steak was on the over done side too unfortunately. The tarte tartin dessert was disappointing, very soggy and almost burnt pastry doused in so much cream I gave half of it to my partner whose dessert had none. If you go here, I would stick with the fondue as apparently it is excellent.

True Bretonne creperie with good ratio price/quality. Personnel is really gentle and ambient is nice. You have to take your time but you will be satisfied at last. Ask for their speciality 'Kremadou' to be put on the sweet crepe, so sweet and good, but I suggest to take a glass of 'Lanbig' together.

We very much enjoyed our visit to Tassili, even though we felt a bit guilty not dining on French Cuisine. Those thoughts didn't last long though!
We had read the very positive reviews on TA and came across it when strolling so decided to venture in.
It was a bit early for dining, but were welcomed warmly by the friendly young manager.
We had some delicious hommus first. Then the vege cous cous which was fabulous. The cous cous is so light and delicious. I had the chicken Breast skewer with veggies and salad. So delicious and just what I wanted. The beans were so yummy, nice salad and generous chicken. With 3drinks this nice meal cost€37, which I thought was very reasonable.
Great food, friendly service!

The food and service were both very good. My bf had the foie gras, lamb, and walnut cake while I has the soup (delicious and super filling), veal, and chocolate cake. The bread is amazing. Some of the best I've ever had in France
My only caution is the wine we chose. We had the burgundy, which at €25 was the most expensive on the menu, and it was completely unimpressive. Avoid that but definitely go to this restaurant!

Tucked in among a residential area is this nice restaurant featuring local cuisine. Don't be fooled by the somewhat commercial exterior. The food is fresh and delicious, the service friendly and quick, and the ambiance surprisingly relaxed. If a nice day eat outside under their covered front area. Local specialties are a good bet like the baked potatoes with ham. The desserts we had were great. Just the place to unwind after a long day. Cheers!

Ailleurs Resto

Reviewed By Appoline H - Riverside, California, United States

I'm French but for the sake of y'all visitors and locals, I'll write this review in English
I really liked my evening at Ailleurs Resto..
My personal favorite was their salmon-like raw trout entrée served with thin sprouts of leek, lemon and ananas... The taste was fresh, the sight colorful, the idea of a tartare revisited with fish... and delicious with that...
The main course was served ; roasted peaches and duck, topped with I quote, ''organic yummy cereals''. You'd have to try it to know what it is... Unless I add a picture... Who knows... I kinda like when people visually share their gustative experience...
The list of Deserts was really hard to choose from a sanguine orange served with Mojito, a chocolate cake and raspberries, some handmade sorbet and ice cream... So I picked several tiny Deserts presented on a sleek black slate: a crème anglaise, a almond and nut paste, a financier...
The waiter was very friendly, an awesome well-read and polite queer: He helped us choose our wine regarding our choices of either meat or fish (both) and he really appreciated our comments, was genuinely concerned about our well-being, regularly stopping by our table and asking if everything was alright... He also politely demanded we give him a good review on this website... To be honest, he totally deserves this appreciation of mine and I will gladly come back... There's too many new dishes, savors and colors to discover not to, anyway!
