Since first opening almost 25 years ago the Marina has expanded and can now hold over 450 boats and is able to house 60 meter super yachts, we regally receive V.I.P visitors to the marina in some breathtaking yachts that constantly stop visitors in their paths to take photos. Puerto Calero Marina has an array of top quality Cafes, Bars and Restaurants that run along the waters edge that cater for all tastes and nationalities so don't forget to allow extra time after your trip to sample some of the local Tapas, or simply check out some of the menus so you can plan a return visit during your holiday. If you fancy flexing the credit card then there are also many designer shops to peruse here too.
Nice little harbour with a handful of bars/restaurants and some shops. The small supermarket sells holiday basics. Great to have clean (free) public toilets. Rather a climb up to the Promenade - either steep slops or several flights of steps. However, the car park is at sea level.

Sail with us on our impressive Catamaran to the beautiful Papagayo Beaches. Catlanza´s memorable crew will look after you, so relax with a drink in hand from the open bar and watch out for dolphins and whales. Swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters. Take an exhilarating jetski ride around the bay. Perfect for families or choose Platinum for the adults only. All drinks and lunch included.
Just came back from a morning sail on the catamaran. At first, I was a bit sceptical as I can't swim and hate water!! So why do this? I thoroughly enjoyed it. The experience is a once in a lifetime. We ate lovely food, plenty of drinks and the guys, Karl, Alejandro, Francis and Roberto were exceptional . I even went jet skiing with Alejandro which I never thought I'd do! So basically, if you are thinking of taking a trip, Do It!!! You will not regret it. But please, don't blame the weather in the guys, they can make your trip breathtaking, but they can't help the weather!!!

An awe-inspiring stretch of volcanic wasteland: a desolate and bleak monument to the power of Mother Nature.
Hired a car and drove to Timanfaya, arriving just before 11:00. There was a short queue to get tickets (Euro 10 per adult) and then get into the car park, which was full and seemed to be operating on a 'one-out, one-in' basis. Plenty of staff around so all was organised though.
From the car park we boarded a bus for the 'lunar drive' and were very impressed. As well as the fantastic scenery afforded by the altitude of much of the drive, the volcanic nature of the landscape is very much in evidence. The bus had pre-recorded commentary in a number of languages playing, so some information but not a great deal. Certainly didn't detract from the experience though - and I admire the bus drivers as that drive is high, narrow and with some VERY tight turns!!
As a final note, as we left the queue of cars coming into the park was very long, I suspect those visitors had a 90 - 120 minute wait before they could park.

Cook in Lanzarote is a fantastic purpose built cookery school. It was about a 20 minute cab ride from where we were staying in Playa Blanca. The whole set up is very stylish and the warm welcome from Antonio is second to none. A thoroughly enjoyable time spent learning how to fillet / prepare two different types of fish, make a fish stock and a fish stew plus an abundance of chefs secrets. Antonio is the owner/chef so you are guaranteed a motivated professional instructor. A small group of 8 people, including the two of us, and 2 people had done other courses with Antonio. We would highly recommend and will definitely be returning next time we are on holiday in Lanzarote.

It's a shame as they came across so well. We were sold a course based on our experience and all seemed well. Then we embarked. It soon became clear that the instructor could not manage the needs of novices with more advanced crew. The pompous RYA stereo type managed to upset all of us. What's more he tried to justify his position to the booking office/managment.
When the managment were given the option to comment it was just so defensive it is not worthy of ANY further comment.
Customer service should never be overlooked. We tried all to be reasonable and got nothing back. Worst still defensive and did not address the issue raised.
We have since gone on and passed higher qualifications with another RYA school.
Pass this SCHOOL unless you are sure your instructor is up to the job and the school will support what they sold.
They even had the cheek to insult many great sailors we have had the pleasure of doing many miles with.
Wait for the reply on this AND NOTE they were given opportunity.
It is a shame.

This is well worth a visit if you don’t mind climbing a short but steep hill to get there. You can reach the start of the path by walking up the road marked Montana Baja (opposite the entrance to the Hotel HL Paradise Island) - this also looks like a good place to park if you have a hire car. The steep part of the walk is fairly short and when you’re at the top you can walk around the rim of the volcano and/or right down into the crater. Amazing views of Playa Blanca, the whole of the southern tip of Lanzarote plus Fuerteventura in the distance. We also saw some beautiful plant and bird life including the Barbary Partridge living in the scrub at the bottom of the crater.
All for free and, in my opinion, better than most of the paid for attractions we visited during our holiday. Take a small bottle of water, a hat and wear sunscreen because there is no shade. An extra layer might be a good idea on a cool or windy day. Don’t worry about walking boots, trainers are fine.

Quemada village is delightful. It is completely unspoilt in a beautiful spot, right on the rocky shore and surrounded by hills. In the middle is the Casa Tino restaurant which is a favourite of ours. It serves delicious seafood and the service is the best. Visit soon because this little paradise of a village won't survive much longer with the pressure to build hotels for the tourist industry. We look forward to another visit.

LiquidPlanet is a company dedicated to teach high quality recreational & technical courses. Also we offer sailing operations as recreational cruises and boat transportation. And LiquidPlanet loves Lanzarote, we will give you all the information necesary to make your experience unforgatable in the Canary Islands.
I went to dive in this dive center with some friends, and it was the first time for me.
We received a course with some important basic lesson that permit you to understand what you have to do with the provided equipment.
Then we went to practice a little bit in a closed pool; the instructor is really nice and good in his job, he makes sure you are doing the right way and he gives you suggestions and techniques.
Then we finally went down into the sea, It has been the best experience of my life and we saw a lot of nice fishes and coloured starfish!!
Thank you Sylwester!!
