Fareham (/ˈfɛərəm/ FAIR-əm) is a market town at the north-west tip of Portsmouth Harbour, between the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton in the south east of Hampshire, England. It gives its name to the borough that comprises the town and its surrounding area. It was historically an important manufacturer of bricks (notably used to build the Royal Albert Hall, London) and a grower of strawberries. Current employment includes retail (including Fareham Shopping Centre with around 100 shops), small-scale manufacturing, and defence (with the Royal Navy's HMS Collingwood and the Ministry of Defence's Defence Science and Technology Laboratory nearby).

Under New Ownership from 15th March 2016. Since taking over we have redecorated Truffles for a brighter, cleaner environment, we are a Husband and Wife team and are passionate about food and giving our customers the best experience possible. We are a modern European restaurant serving homemade food. We aim to provide you with good quality, freshly prepared food in an informal environment.
Truffles is a cute little restaurant on the High St in Fareham. The menu is small but has something for everyone, my red mullet and pepper salad starter was tasty and fresh, the walnut crusted goats cheese starter was delicious, an interesting change instead of the usual honey and goats cheese pairing. The complimentary home cooked sourdough bread and butter was appreciated.
My main of roasted pork loin served with lyonnaise potato and red cabbage was really nice, the pork loin cooked perfectly , the confit lamb shoulder with cauliflower spinach, lamb bacon and boulanger potato was equally good. The quality of the cooking and the ingredients was top quality and it was all beautifully presented.
Wine was reasonably priced, service was very good, friendly and with the right amount of attention. I liked the wall art which was available to purchase, presumably by a local artist. Plenty of parking at the car park on nearby Civic Way or outside on the High St if you can manage to nab a spot. A good choice and supporting local business too.

At Fareham’s Villa Romana rustic and contemporary combine to create an authentic Italian dining experience with a splash of olde worlde English thrown in to the mix. This centrally located, 18th century coach house oozes character with exposed brick and beams. The ideal setting for a romantic evening or stylish dinner with friends. Villa Romana is using fresh local ingredients, the Chefs produce an excellent combination of classically traditional and inspirational new dishes to whet the palate of any Italian food fanatic.
Villa Romana was recommended by a friend. We were welcomed and seated upstairs. Restaurant is beautiful inside. All six of us enjoyed all three courses. We had everything from prawns to steak, lamb and mushrooms. All were cooked very well. Service was faultless. Good variety of drinks. Good value for money. Lovely tiramisu. Would definately recommend and return. Thankyou for a lovely birthday.

Intimate restaurant with excellent food, particularly the fish dishes. Antonio is a brilliant host and makes you feel special. We have been dining there for several years and have never been disappointed. The special menus for themed evenings and Christmas are always very good.

Visited on the recommendation of a TripAdvisor review. Had a lovely lunch- generous portions at a reasonable price. Very nice menu and friendly service. I've just moved to the area and have been looking for local places to eat- we'll be going back!

We had dinner here on a fairly busy Saturday evening but when we arrived my heart sank as there was no-one in at 1930Hrs but I need not have worried as by 2000Hrs the place was buzzing.
Refreshingly this restaurant allows you to sit at the bar area to have an aperitif and decide on your menu choices which is so lacking in many these days and it is located next to the open kitchen....so there is nothing to hide there!!
we were shown to our table just as starters were ready and they were wholesome and tasty, the service is very proper in here and it is so nice to be called Ma'am and Sir.
The main courses were again sublime, the belly pork was succulent and crispy crackling and the steak was to die for, both served with a lovely individual pot of vegetables each.
We didn't have puddings but they sounded superb too, we settled on a second bottle of wine as we were enjoying the ambience of being in a restaurant that doesn't feel the need to pipe loud music into the room but just let the chatter of people enjoying themselves permeate the air.
My only regret on the night was that I forgot to leave a tip when I was leaving as it was all quite sudden when the taxi arrived that had been booked by the young gentleman so I will be calling in on Tuesday (when they reopen) to leave one.
Definately a place to visit and enjoy and I urge you all to go.

Lee was our waiter when me and my partner came for breakfast and his fantastic service is the reason for this review not being bad. If we could rate him alone he would receive 10/10. As for the rest of the experience it was not...MoreMoobear92, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at The Buccaneer! What a really lovely, unexpected find, authentic Italian food in the middle of a small, nondescript shopping centre. Plenty of nearbye free parking. We were three friends, looking for somewhere local and came across the positive reviews for this ristorante. Although not overly busy there was a lovely atmostphere with a warm welcome and professional, unobtrusive service. All three of us were really impressed with our main courses, delicious sauces on perfectly cooked pasta with an outstanding seafood marinara. Desserts were perfectly pleasant though not quite in the same league as the mains. I was delighted to have lots of gluten free options and staff who understood what I could and couldn't eat. Three mains, two sides, three desserts, two glasses of wine and two cokes came to £74. We really enjoyed our evening and look forward to returning.

This is the second time in 4 months that we've eaten here and yet again we weren't disappointed. The steak was cooked to perfection. Our waitress Josie was attentive and very friendly. We're taking friends next week and I'm sure, like us, they won't be disappointed- thank you!

I simply love this place!
The staff treat us like friends, they practically know our orders and are always chatting away to us and so friendly with our children. Nothing is ever too much bother when we need to be fussy with the food - which is often.
Was a little disappointed with the new menu at first but the manager is always helping us to pick the best dishes and any problems we have are quickly rectified.
Food is always hot, fresh, quick and tasty.
Just please change back to your spicy rice guys and old style Quesedialla as these were much better on the old menu!
Check out online as most times there is an amazing voucher to use here too and they also do Tesco Tokens which help keep it affordable.
