Tupiza is a city in Potosí Department, Bolivia. It is located at an elevation of about 2850 m. The population is 25,709 (2012 estimate). Tupiza and its environs are characterized by dramatic red escarpments which jut ruggedly skyward from the coarse, gray terrain; green agricultural land adjacent to the Tupiza River provides welcome respite from the otherwise arid, thorny surroundings. The area quebradas are susceptible to flash flood runoff from sudden cloudbursts.

TURISTUR LOS SALARES TOUR OPETATOR around Tupiza we organize, horseback riding, hiking, tours in Jeep, southern Bolivia, the goal is always to provide new and better services. with the best prices, we work without intermediaries, doing the tours TUPIZA, Sud Lipez, Eduardo Avaroa Reserve, Salar de uyuni, CHIPAYA, NATIONAL PARK SAJAMA The human resource is composed of a family team: guides drivers, and cooks, have extensive experience in the management of the groups with the TOURIST CIRCUITS
We wanted to do a private tour from Tupiza to San Pedro de atacama without following the conventional itinerary. After asking around various companies, we found Santos the owner of Turistur los Salares to be the one which was willing to accomodate our requirements and the most reasonably priced. We were very lucky that Santos himself was our driver and guide for our fantastic trip. On top of the usual sites covered on regular itineraries we visited Ciudad Encanto(Muyu Kaka), Laguna Celeste and other lakes in that area. We had plenty of time at all the sites to hike, take photos and enjoy the splendid nature. We felt safe all the time under the good care of Santos and Saida who prepared our lunches and dinner on the last night. Food was of good quality and varied every day. We stayed at Tayka de Sal in Uyuni, Tayka del Piedra, Tayka del Desierto all very warm and comfortable for their remoteness. The last night we spent in Quetana Chica in private accomodation which was basic but had private bathroom with plenty ofhot water.
This trip is definitely our highlight in our 2 months of travel in South America. Thank you Santos and Saida for all the good fun, patience while we snapped more than 2500 photos and we hope to come back one day and do this trip again.

Magic uyuni tours for 4 days day 1 tupiza - quetena.-We start the tour from tupiza at 6 30 am, the first day we visited palala , sillar, , nazarenito, cerrillos, polulos, san antonio de lipez, ghost town, morejon lake, quetena (overnight) day 2 laguna hedionda - villa mar.- Kollpa lake, salar de chalviri, polques, hot Springs, Salvador dali desert, green lake, white lake, gueiseres and fumarol
It is a small agency catering for small groups and we were not disappointed at all.
Sylvia was really prompt at answering any questions asked about the tour in very good English. So arranging the whole trip (4 people) was quick and easy by email/whatsapp.
We went for the 5D/4N tour with the Uturuncu volcano rise on the 2nd day, and that was a real highlight, if you do not suffer from altitude sickness, well, go for it, because the view from the top (over 6000mt on sea level) is stunning, the climb itself not that difficult, but highly rewarding. Our 70-years old local guide was simply perfect.
Milton the driver, and Lourdes the cucinera, were absolutely great..
Excellent (and plenty of it) food throughout the journey.
Safe and knowleadgeable driver whoo took care of us all the time, stopping whenever requested, taking so nice crazy photos of us at the Salar!
Accomodations were basic but decent, two nights out of four had hot showers.
Not that cold as expected, only a minor problem on the third day when our car wouldn't start for the cold night (one hour or so delay before we could get along).
All in all an unforgettable experience around the South of Bolivia.

He has 24 years of experience organizing horseback riding, hiking, our original Triathlon (bicycle, horse and jeep) Jeep tours around Tupiza by the South West and Bolivia, we always try to provide new and better services. One of our main features is to work without intermediaries. Our operations center is Tupiza with its wonderful area of ravines and Canyons of colors, from which we operate to the white Deserts and lagoons of colors or CIRCUIT SOUTH WEST. We have branches in the cities of La Paz and Tarija, which gives tourists the guarantee book your tour at the same price as in Tupiza and insurance and financial services: TIHUANACU, Copacabana, Rurrenabaque and northern Chile We have 40 Jeeps in conditions that work exclusively for company. The staff: bilingual guides, drivers - guides, cooks and travel agents have extensive experience in the industry, managing tours, human relations, human resources, especially sympathy and kindness.
We had a fantastic trip with Tupiza tours on the 4D3N lagoons and salt flats tour. The office were very helpful via email beforehand, answering all of our questions very promptly before booking. Once booked, they provided all the info we needed. We checked in at the office the night before where the service was very good and speedy again.
On the tour, our guide Milton was fantastic. He is an excellent driver, spoke perfect English, really informative and knowledgeable and overall very friendly. He is also a professional when it comes to salt flat pictures. The food on the tour was good and plentiful. The accommodation was as described beforehand; basic but totally sufficient if you are not fussy.
The tour itself is stunning -incredible landscapes, wildlife, lagoons....the list goes on. Highly recommended.
I would advise bringing extra water for the first two days (days 3 and 4 there are shops to buy more) as it is best to drink lots at high altitude and the tour only provides 2 litres a day.

I loved this activity organised through La Torre tours. There were two of us with a charming young guide studying to be a vet. The scenery was stunning, the weather was glorious and the horses were well looked after. Highly recommend this as a great way of relaxing and imagining your a cowboy!!

We have an extensive experience on JEEP TOURS EXPLORING THE SOUTH of Bolivia, and other touristic activities. The South Lipez and SALAR OF UYUNI,are our main routes among others in Bolivia and Chile. Our Mission is to supply a premier quality service to our guests.
Its true that you will have the trip of a lifetime whoever you go with ... BUT ... its also true that experiences vary greatly. All the accommodation out there is pretty basic but no problem for those with a little perspective and a sense of humour. The big difference is the quality of the guides. All the agencies will say their guides speak 'un poco Inglés' - but this is not true at all. I only met one English speaker out of fifteen tours we came across. So if your Spanish is not great make sure the agency writes down their promise of an English speaking guide. All that said, my group had the absolute time of their lives, we spoke enough Spanish to make true friends with our guide and our cook who went out of their way for us in every respect. There were even tears when we parted in Uyuni. We went with the company Valle Hermoso who kept all of their promises and more. Ask for Sergio who is a highly skilled and very careful driver (important) and also, if you can get Soledad as your cook your meals each night will be the envy of every other group and you will be treated with great affection and care. Sergio and Soledad made us happy and comfortable when a lot of other groups were clearly having a hard time enjoying themselves. Also you can organise to pay for the whole thing at the end of the tour in Uyuni (which is a great way of keeping the agencies honest with their many promises - make them write them down). Its also MUCH better to go with a Tupiza group not an Uyuni group because the trip is three times more interesting and the tour groups are far more trustworthy. Tupiza is also a much much nicer town than Uyuni.

Nothing but good things to say about this tour! We were a bit hesitant to use a small company with few ratings (especially since we just booked it through our hotel) but we felt very lucky with the whole experience. Willie has a great personality and is a responsible driver, with many years experience. His passion for Bolivia is contagious, his patience for picture stopping is infinite, and his attitude is always positive. Leydi was a fabulous cook and the jeep was comfortable and well maintained. The scenery itself is gorgeous and somehow, each day seemed to surpass the previous! Thank-you so much for the amazing experience Willie!

We had 4 fantastic days with good organisation. We did everything that they promised we would do. Andres, the driver, was very punctual, kind and reliable. In these four days we saw a lot of different sides of Bolivian nature, more than just the salt flats. Andres also took us to places where the other guides/tour operators didn't go. So if you have the chance: do it!
