This park is a great way to while away an hour or so. The setting of the bush is very relaxing. Entry is free but donations are welcome. It’s a good idea to bring your own water as I couldn’t see anywhere where drinks can be purchased.

When visiting Tamworth a visit to Oxley Scenic Lookout is a must. Tamworth is pretty much surrounded by hills and this, being right in town and accessed by a good road, allows you to orientate, gain a perspective of Tamworth and it’s satellite suburbs and understand the importance of the Peel River.
The view is spectacular, Seating, toilets and a number of observation platforms are provided and it’s a great place to have a pre-packaged lunch while taking in the vista.

The museum houses a private collection of over 50 motorcycles in pristine working order from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. The collection of bikes includes Ducati, Triumph, Honda, Velocette & Laverda. All motorcycles have been immaculately restored to concourse condition, plus there are some limited edition current models. Open every day from 9am - 5pm (except Christmas Day).
Though never interested in riding a bike this museum has an excellent range of bikes, I couldn't not be impressed with the quality and engineering of them and to see some brands I knew my dad rode when young brought back memories, one that is...MoreWe're absolutely thrilled you enjoyed your visit & appreciated our collection of bikes! Thank you so much for posting a review. We look forward to seeing you on your return visit!

This place has everything and anything that you could possibly want for a souvenier of Tamworth. This place is especially great when the country music festival is on, its buzzing and there is such a great amount of choice to show that you have been there and done that. Its definitely a place to visit.

Parking was easy and the park is based around a cafe with clean toilets. There is a water splash area, a cycle path runs throughout it and loads of different playground equipment: flying fox, massive slides, climbing structures, sandplay. There is a dedicated exercise area too for fitness freaks. Lots of Seating under cover. One of the best we have visited. My only comment is that, for younger children, it is adjacent to a main road so I imagine it would have been a toss up for a safety fence versus accessibility without having to open and close gates (awkward for cycling or passing through as a runner). Very clean park too and the top cycle path runs adjacent to the Peel River.

People who are interested in Austraian Railways and the history of Australia should visit this site.....the volunteers are wonderful....as an Australian living abroad I was so interested in this museum and just how much the Werris Creek township played such a vital part of this history.....there are videos showing how this town played such an important part of History for Australia...should be promoted more a must see when in the Tamworth area..

Being interested in history, wewould have liked to have seen this but unfortunately, by the time we reached Tamworth after driving down from Armidale, we were too late to see it.So sorry to hear Margaret. Due to our largely volunteer staff we do have particular opening hours. However, if you'd like to visit outside of these hours in the future, please let us know and we may be able to accomodate your visit.

Once you have looked around this Walk A Mile music attraction you realise how many Australian musicians have been involved in the Country & Western music industry for almost 100 years. The displays, information relating to the artist and their music is excellent even coming from a person who doesn't really listen to this music. I'm glad I visited Tamworth and might even start listening to a bit more country & western music now.

I have been along to many of the shows put on here. Some local and some visiting. It is a great venue for many options, stage shows, presentations, music, movies etc etc.... Plenty of parking and easy to access for all young & old alike. Food available nearby. I always look forward to seeing what's on next... Mandy C
