A soap museum dedicated to the history and science of soap. The museum is an old, restored 19th century building with high ceilings and original stonework. On display, are two old presses and other agricultural tools, typical of South West Sicily. The inspiration to open a soap museum, comes from our experience in making and producing soap and natural cosmetics. We would like to share our passion and knowledge about the history, science and technicalities of soap making, to eveyone interested in learning more about this essential product, which started to be produced in 2800 B.C. All the visits to the museum are guided tours, and at the end of your visit you will have the chance to try our products. We are open weekdays from Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm with a reservation, and you may visit us out of these hours and at the weekend if we are available.

This is the best Cannoli you will eat, beautifully and freshly made, just gorgeous! Plus the friendly, effusive and English speaking staff (Daniela and her children) cannot do enough to help. She explained the contents of all the sweets so if you have special dietary requirements its a safe bet. I will be back for the cannoli and coffee alone! Thankyou!!!!!

In the western side of Sicily, at the slopes of Mount Kronio, not far from Sciacca, there is the “Enchanted Castle”, that is a wonderful place invented by the creativity of man and nature where, besides olives and almond trees, you can find heads engraved in stone by Filippo Bentivegna, called “Philip of the heads”, a real artist endowed by an excellent creativity, one of the greatest exponents of “art brut” or “outside art”.

Castello Incantato is an easy drive and located about 10 minutes from the Sciacca city center. My daughter and I spent over two hours meandering through this outdoor exhibit. Realizing the time and energy dedicated to each piece, I felt compelled to inspect the detail and carving from one piece to the next. I could only imagine Filippo's loneliness for it is conveyed in his carvings. The area is peaceful with a view of the sea in the horizon. If you have an appreciation for art, you would enjoy a visit to the Enchanted Castle.

There's absolutely nothing of a real interest. Enormous traffic in the historic part which cause trouble during walking. Absolutely not recommended. I haven't found anything really nice compared to other parts of sicily. Spend your time elsewhere...

This is about 7kms up from the town and certainly worth the effort of getting there. The church is interesting but not spectacular, though pity the badly designed annex was allowed. On the main altar is a beautiful marble monument of Saint Calogero, carved by Antonio and Giacomo Gagini. The cave, 'home' to the hermit monk Calogero, is to the right of the church. Round the far side, there is also the natural steam grotto 'Stufe di San Calogero' - stays at around 40°c and 95% humidity - which in December and very quiet we were able to see, though suspect that much of the year not quite so easy. Nice walk along the top with fantastic views, and picnic benches in the wooded area. Plenty of parking.

Chiesetta sconsacrata in pieno centro a Sciacca. Stupendi gli stucchi barocchi in gesso ed oro, l'organo, gli affreschi, il pavimento e sopratutto il tetto in legno affrescato. Visita gratuita con donazione liberale ad in associazione che si occupa di tenerla pulita e curata dato che il comune a quanto pare "latita". donate signori donate!!
