Palermo is an urban melting pot characterized by history and culture so diverse that it often feels conflicted. Discover an intriguing range of architectural styles, from Arabian domes to baroque buildings, and enjoy delicious cuisine that spans a variety of origins. Be sure to visit the Palace of the Normans, the Palatine Chapel and the church of St. John of the Hermits. Art and music lovers won’t want to miss the Galleria d’Arte Moderna (the “GAM”), the Salinas or an opera or ballet at the Teatro Massimo.

Mediterranea
We went with high hopes. Ordered the grilled shrimps and the the home-made ravioli with shrimps and swordfish. We said we were sharing both and the waiter helpfully suggested that since they both had shrimps in them, we should order a different dish. After a lot of discussion about how many shrimps in each dish, we stuck to our order as my friend was keen on shrimps. When they came, her main dish was just four grilled shrimps with no accompaniment for €13.50 and mine was four grilled shrimps with 8 pieces of fish-stuffed ravioli plus a pile of swordfish for €13.00. A weird discrepancy in price. As it was, the shrimps (English prawns) were very uncooked and gelatinous. We queried this and the waiter said that is how they're done in Italy. My friend sent hers back but I decided to soldier on to see if they grew on me (they didn't). Then there followed a farcical return of her two prawns but without any of the ravioli or swordfish I had shared with her. Things went from bad to worse from this point on, culminating in their refusing to let us take the almost full litre of water away as they needed the glass bottle! As we were leaving, they rushed out with a new plastic litre bottle of still water and thrust it in our hands. Overall, this restaurant had been well reviewed, was not expensive and other diners seemed happy with their fare. But both both our dishes were disappointing and certainly not delicious.

Pizzeria & Kebab Mounir If you want to enjoy the delights of Tunisia, if you go crazy for KEBAB ARTISAN (sandwich-pizza-plate), the Cous Cous, meat or fish, BRICK, FALAFEL, The Pizza sourdough h24 or the classic Arabic mint served according to tradition, the Pizzeria and Kebab Mounir is the place for you !!!!
My partner and I came here after seeing the reviews on trip advisor. It's a very casual place with a few tables outside. We're vegetarian and ordered two pizzas - one with aubergine and pesto, and one with mushrooms and cheese. Both were really tasty particularly my vege one. Quickly ready & friendly staff. We also had the spinach and cheese pastries as an entree which were very good. All up came to €15 which I thought was good value.

We had an excellent meal at Al Fondaco, after over two weeks in Sicily. We’ve eaten out every night and so have had the ability to experience a range of restaurants and trattorias.
Our meal was inventive while respecting the traditions and the availability of fresh products. A cauliflower antipasto was intriguing, light, and finished off with fresh pink peppercorns, which gave it a great contrast in color and flavor. The caponata with swordfish was fantastic. The pasta dish which we split was fantastic as well and the two segundi also equally good.
In all, a great experience, highly recommended. The dining room service was very attentive and it was explained to us why they had to have all of our order at once, in order to properly be able to serve all of their customers.

In the old town of Palermo you will locate this excellent restaurant. We tried the 8-dish course that is really worth ordering - you will taste local specialties cooked with imagination and very tasty ingredients. Well worth the visit - the staff is also very friendly and informative.

A local favorite - my children love the pizza here. Delicious antipasti and secondi paired with recommended wines were very impressive. We do not dine here enough but will make more of an effort. Highly recommend.

On Holyday From November 07th 2016 To December 07th 2016
Made to feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived, the 3 brothers who own the restaurant treated us to a brilliant dining experience. The food was beautifully cooked and presented in a manner reminiscent of much more pricey establishments. My fish main was delicious and my wife was smitten with her modern take on lasagne. Overall would highly recommend to any visitors to Palermo.

This isn't a restaurant, but is a favourite with locals looking for a convivial meeting place.
It has a simple Sicilian menu. Delicious hot chickpea fritters and little potato cakes in fresh sesame rolls, are amazing.
The staff are warm and friendly and obviously proud of their work.

This seafood restaurant, although small, was perfect for us that in the 3 days in Palermo, we were there for 2 dinners.Small, intimate, yet well-looked after by the attentive staff. We tried out both seafood carpaccio and mixed Sicilian starters (both excellent). My favourite pasta was mixed seafood trenette. Tonight we also had grilled sea bream, which couldn't be any fresher. Both nights the accompanying sicilian white wines were perfect. We were introduced to excellent caponata here. The tiramisu dessert was much better than any I've eaten before.
One of the two aims for the short trip to Palermo was accomplished!

La Galleria is a Mediterranean cuisine wine bar, where you can enjoy typical Sicilian meals and the freshest catch from the sea. At La Galleria, we have no fixed-menu, as we prefer enticing you with daily tasteful ideas to melt for, based on fresh crisp products from the market. Selected wine and beers will accompany your evenings wrapped in the charming atmosphere of Palermo's historical centre.
The best food experience in Palermo! Frutti di mare soup is just perfect! Contains clams, mussels, swordfish, squids, tomatoes.. the spices are perfectly balanced. Avocado and shrimps salad is also very good. Add grilled swordfish and some Sicilian wine and you have the perfect supper!
Not everything is perfect though. Don't expect it to open in the afternoon - you can eat after 7:30p.m.
