The site includes very old remains of the old city and there is not that much to see - just stones with explanations and need to use a lot of imagination. Ticket is expensive, 8 euros. If you are not deeply inteterested in history, just look the ancient gate and move on.

A great view of history, B.C.!
This two monuments are just incredible pieces of Ancient (BC) history! The mausoleum is a tribute from Augustus to commemorate the deaths of two grandsons... The Arc de Triomphe another marvel of BC history! The two stood at the entrance to the old city of Glanum, so if that's where you're headed, stop here first! There's a parking lot right beside, but it's an easy walk from the old city of St Remy. Not to be missed!

Chateau Romanin

Last massif before the Mediterranean Sea, the Alpilles are lighted up with thousands of glints. On its northern side, between Saint- Rémy-de-Provence and Eygalières, nature has fortuitously drawn a triumphant "V". A geological breach that creates a dynamic and exceptional relief. Perhaps you might behold the gliders' serene ballet above the ruins of a 13th century castle. You have just arrived, indeed, at Château Romanin. In the middle of the mythical and historic Provence, discover a majestic and unique vineyard, cultivated according to the rhythm of nature and biodynamic methods. Embodied by an ancient castle and a modern cellar, Château Romanin is protected and magnified by a real underground Cathedral carved out of rock. Delight yourself with a tour, a wine tasting in the cellar.

I visited Romanin with a group of friends and being from Australia we had forgotten the French operating hours so we arrived 7 minutes before they stopped for the long lunch - so keep that in mind!
Being one of the bigger operators the service wasn't warm and welcoming with the lady making it clear that there wasn't time for tastings as they would be closing soon - with a little communication we managed to get a single tasting having travelled to get there and we were planning to but which we still did
The lady wasn't able to recommend anything local that may be open either despite us finding a place 5 minutes down the road
Having said all that I'm sure if you were organised and went that it would be lovely with a good aspect of the valley and I'm sure more to see than ourselves
We went to Terres Blanches who were amazing and very welcoming though much smaller, still a wonderful experience - service
Of course I understand local custom but good service is still just a smile and a suggestion away

This small museum is housed in an interesting historical building. The museum is not only running an interesting exhibition about a post impressionist painter, Jean Baltus but also provides useful information about the building itself, the town and region and archeological finds. The presentation of the paintings and photographs has been done in an esthetical manner. Lovely poems in French also adorn the walls (although not every nuance would have been picked up by non-native visitors like me). In short, the museum is well worth a visit!
