Our recent visit to Port Carling for the first time, what a lovely little town.
Lots of great shopping, boutiques, cafe's, restaurants, all surrounded by water and boats.
Worth the drive, lots to see and do.
Many arrive by boat through the docks, small little beach and park for kids and picnics.
We will be back for sure.

Went for a walk around the JWMarriot grounds and found The Rock Restaurant/ Clubhouse at the end of the road.
Golf Course looks nice.
Outside clubhouse patio is perched atop the greens. Nice view of a beautiful golf course. The clubhouse and restaurant are average, not as finely finished as Lake Joseph or Grandview clubhouses, but the beer is cold and the server was pleasant.

I went with my daughter and was pretty nervous about riding... (it's been 35 years since I have been on a horse) My nervousness was put to ease as I realized the horses we were riding were very well ridden and our guide gave us some lessons and put us at ease! My daughter was riding like a pro and I really enjoyed the ride myself! I wouldn't hesitate to book another ride in the future! Thanks so much Winding Fences!

The "Muskoka Experience" always includes a cruise on the big 3 Muskoka Lakes, with their rugged & beautiful Canadian Shield vistas & gorgeous cottages. Enjoy live commentary including history & local lore. Depart Port Carling 7 days/wk late June-Oct. Sunset, dinner & private/bridal cruises too! Owned & operated by Captain Randy Potts, who has been a licensed captain for over 30 years, Sunset Cruises is an alternative to the larger ships, and can show you Muskoka scenery accessible only by our smaller ships. We go where the large boats don't. The Peerless II made its living for over 50 years as a gasoline and home heating oil Delivery boat. We restored it so visitors and locals alike could see and experience first hand the historic supply boat era on the lakes.
While visiting the beautiful town of Port Carling my family and I went on 1.5hr cruise via the Peerless II. The staff were very friendly and the captain was extremely knowledgeable. My 5 year old son had a chance to steer the boat and get...MoreThank you for your review Stephen - we are happy to hear you enjoyed your Peerless II cruise from Port Carling. The Captain & Crew enjoy to make special memories for everyone while taking in the spectacular views of Muskoka from the water.

It is nice that this landmark is still
Around. The history of this place is pretty awesome. Some of the greats have played here.
A new roof is being laid and the premises updated. The dock now offers yoga in the evening and the Concerts are second to none.
It needs a bit more updating but glad
To see it still around.

Well we have hiked here numerous times before so I am not sure how this happened. But there were a lot of fallen trees and debris and I feel like some of the markers were missing. We needed up going for close to three hours instead of the planned 45 min "stroll"
Yes if you follow he shorter route along the lake it is pretty and you can swim. There are a few boardwalks and beaver dams along the way.
Lots Of broken large trees so WatchOut

This unique museum set in such a picturesque location is most deserving of a visit. Every year there are new exhibits or themes to discover, with an emphasis on Muskoka. I particularly look forward to the summer lecture series with topics ranging from antique dolls to endangered turtles, as well as a visit each summer to a different Muskoka resort for an on-site lecture. Being in a wheelchair, I truly appreciate the accessibility of the building and the ramps that make it possible to explore the museum. The quaint gift shop offers treasures for all ages, as well as an impressive selection of loose teas. Do drop in for a fun and informative look back at life and leisure in Muskoka.

Muskoka Lakes Winery produces exceptional wines from locally grown fruit. Enjoy the daily 'Bog to Bottle Discovery' (guided tour and tutored wine tasting) at 1 pm - designated a Canadian Signature Experience by Canada Tourism! Other 'must dos' include wine and cheese on the patio, shopping for local goodies, hiking or snowshoeing on the Cranberry Trails, GPS discoveries and kids' adventures. Open daily, year round (Mon-Sat 9-5, Sun 11-4). Located four minutes north of Bala in scenic Muskoka.
We popped in for a visit in March. Not prime winery season!! But they were open, offering tours, tastings and the chance to sit in Muskoka chairs around a campfire to enjoy a gorgeous, sunny "tail end of winter" kind of afternoon. Candace was the charming, knowledgeable young lady who hosted our tasting. She's a keeper. We loved the wine, although it probably wouldn't be to everyone's taste. The little gift shop has some cute stuff. The venue would probably be gorgeous and far more interesting at a different time of year, but we could still appreciate the views.
