Last year Penticton suffered from the floods. Luckily Skaha was able to get the Beaches and park cleaned up well. This allowed us to go there day after day and enjoy the beautiful park, the beach and even grab an icecream . Looking forward to the warmer weather to do our walks again also☀️

At the Penticton Farmers' Market you can find farm fresh veggies and fruits, eggs, honey, baking, preserves and handmade crafts - all grown or produced in the South Okanagan. PFM vendors proudly make, bake or grow everything they sell. The market also hosts a selection of local liquor vendors each week. *Please note: from September 10 - October 29, 2016, we are temporarily located in the 500 & 600 blocks of Main Street.*
They close off several blocks downtown and fill the streets with vendors.
There are normally 2 rows of vendors and pedestrians fill the rest.
There are a wide range of products from fresh farm produce (which changes over the summer) to baked goods and handicrafts. Also a few food trucks.

We love bookstores and this is right at the top of the heap. Mostly used books and also an interesting collection of dvds to rent. The thing i liked most was that they had a good selection of geology books of the Okanogan. and southern B.C. new. And, with purchases over some amount - $100 in our case - you get a nice bag to take your books home in. Also a cool erotica section and a tucked away cupboard with collectible old sci fi (right across from the front desk)
Almost as good as Powells in Portland and that's saying something because Powell's is the closest thing to perfection.

The Penticton & Wine Country Visitor Centre is the place to begin your Okanagan experience. Our knowledgeable and friendly team are here to assist in everything from accommodation to directions or information on any of the many events and festivals. Make this your first stop for wine touring, adventure or family fun.
During our recent Okanagan wine tour, we stayed in Penticton and started our holiday by stopping in at the Visitor Centre. Maggie was extremely helpful and spent lots of time with us offering information, advice and recommendations. The Centre also had lots of maps and brochures about local wineries and activities. Well worth the visit!

Great mini hike to top and a path over to the Penticton sign. Fabulous place to get the lay of the land and your bearings at the start of your tour of the area. Running shoes recommended! Also take your camera, lovely vistas and overview of Penticton and Okanagan Lake! Highly recommended!

We stopped into Ruby Blues as a part of a wine tour through the Naramata Bench, it was a highlight of the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and a great story teller throughout the tasting, he was a treat in comparison to some of the more bland tastings at other nearby wineries. I highly recommend the bubbly rose!

The SS Sicamous is the largest surviving paddle wheeler in Canada. It is open as a heritage site, museum and wedding venue. Launched in 1914, the ship provided a vital means of transport to remote communities on the shores of Okanagan Lake. The SS Sicamous is operated by the SS Sicamous Society: a non-profit organization that works to protect the marine heritage of the Okanagan.Funds from your admission go directly to the restoration of the SS Sicamous, and the other heritage ships in our care.
This is a MUST if you are in the area visiting. It was one a few minutes late but that didn't matter. It is all amazing, so well kept, great information. You can just feel the history here. And the model train is also very neat!
TIP: if you are looking to get married in the area or host any event, this would be a show stopper!

Situated in Penticton, at the gateway to the picturesque Naramata Bench, Upper Bench offers a unique experience to locals and visitors by offering pairings of their two passions: artisan wine and hand-crafted cheese. Winemaker Gavin Miller believes great wine is made in the vineyard and farms sustainably, with out the use of chemicals or pesticides. Upper Bench produces big bold reds and crisp dry whites. All of Upper Bench's wines come from the mature vines on Upper Bench's unique seven-acre vineyard and a select few other vineyards along the Naramata Bench. Cheesemaker Shana Miller continues to create her unique and highly sought-after hand crafted artisan cheeses in her on site, CFIA registered state of the art creamery. She now has seven delectable cheeses in her aging rooms: U&Brie, Gold, Gold French, Gold Italian, Okanagan Sun, Grey Baby and a stilton style blue named King Cole. Come and watch Shana hand-craft her cheeses through the creamery window, speak to Gavin about his award-winning wines and latest releases, and enjoy a wine flight perfectly paired with one of our cheese platters on our sunny Naramata Bench patio. We are located just 2 minutes from downtown Penticton and are open all year round (except Christmas Holidays). Please check our website for our hours of operation.

We are located on the beautiful Naramata Bench in the heart of the Okanangan Valley. At LA FRENZ, we believe the quality in the bottle begins in the vineyard. Cutting edge and meticulous vineyard practices are used in combination with varieties tailored to the unique soils and micro climates of our vineyard sites to produce the vibrant and intense grape characters found only in the Okanagan Valley. The potential of the resulting fruit, using experience and careful stewardship throughout the vinification process, is maintained and enhanced to create exceptional wines that truly reflect the grape variety and vineyard site. We welcome you to our unique wine shop overlooking Lake Okanagan. This spectacular view was featured on the $100 banknote from 1954 to 1975. From April through October, we are open daily, 10am to 5pm for tastings and purchases. Join us on our patio for a seated tasting experience or sample at the tasting bar. Seating is limited so Reservations are encouraged. We do require advance Reservations for groups of 8 or more.
Chris helped us with the wine tasting and he was brilliant: very knowledgeable and engaging. We don't generally like Chardonnay but this we have to admit we did. The Merlot was excellent and their reserve wines at $45 a bottle are a bargain.Hi Moniaits, Thank you for your great comments on the experience and the wine. It's particularly pleasing coming from an international perspective and I agree our wines are literally bargains. Thank you! Jeff Martin- Owner
